Now that I'm borrowing my mom's digital camera, I've FINALLY uploaded some of my art work:
This is my latest painting in acrylic - it's not finished, as you can tell with the half-painted face. I'm making it for a friend. Aliens... eyeballs... glowing flowers... a skull... I'll repost it when it's finished.
The photo itself came out blurry and I tried fixing it, but it still looks kinda shitty. It's a painting in acrylic and shattered glass - I found the glass pieces in the street beside a broken car window. I love using objects that I find in the world and incorporating them into my work. Texture adds depth. The concept for this painting came to me in a stream of consciousness. The demons in my brain are cornered in the womb of my soul, restless, trembling, splitting apart...
I was trying to capture a mood, a moment, a memory. A bleeding heart, reflective and bare, yearning for something -anything to fill the void... radiation of the turmoil felt inside, a vibrant turbulence of raw emotion...
The pose of the couple is modeled after a favorite statue of mine that I found in an art book (I forget what it's called at the moment, I'll look it up later)... I used sweeping, flowing, sinous lines and vivacious colors to capture the essence of falling in love. A symphony of all that love is and can be.
This a drawing of an angel in charchoal and pastel, modeled after another artist's version of the angel in pencil (I will have to look up the name later). The photo doesn't do the actual drawing justice. The details are somewhat blurry.
I call this one "Soulmates." This is an abstract rendering of the synapses in the brain, or neurons that shoot different electrical signals to one another in the body. Two in particular connect in a way that transcends all others.
This one's called "Love is madness." The concept is based upon one of my favorite quotes by Nietzsche:
There is always some madness in love... but there is always some reason in madness.
These faces are major distortions of my own... just playing around with different media -the left face is pastel, the middle face is watercolor and pastel, and the right face is acrylic.

beautiful work! the one in acrylic and shattered glass is truly haunting. and the bleeding heart one is my other favorite as it evokes a strong mood. (i also really like the concept of "soulmates" and the delicate artistry of the angel one) you are a very talented artist!
