Absofuckinglutely. I love this book so far - it's just as good as his first one, A Million Little Pieces, just as raw, just as heart-wrenching, just as beautiful. I've been reading a lot lately, and I have a tendency to skip around several books at once (damn ADHD). I'm also reading Prozac Nation by Elizabeth Wurtzel, Stranger than Fiction by Chuck Palahniuk, and I'm about to start reading Chuck's Diary as well (can you tell I love Palahniuk??).
... life is nothing but a moment ...
Last night I meandered along the beach with my guy Chris. Bundled in scarves and gloves and the warmth of our bodies together, we explored the shore in a tripped-out, giggling haze. A full moon peeked out at us, radiant and smiling, beams of beauty bathing us in an ethereal glow. The water along Dog Beach seemed to have a mind of its own, swirling and swishing and lapping at our feet, a dark creature of the night. At one point, the waves surged toward us in an unexpected tumble of fury, and we dashed for safety as quickly as our little legs could carry us. The sand never looked more beautiful than it did under the moonlight, glistening in silence beneath our feet. We stopped for smooches and held hands like two crazy people in love. The moon smiled. The stars seemed to shine their blessing. All seemed right in the world. Beauty as it should be.
...all we know is all we are...
