Left Peoria around 2PM yesterday for the drive up to Flagstaff. Took Steven and I about three hours to get there. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't believe how nice it was. I felt so free getting the fuck out of Peoria. Although I'll be going off to the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences a year after I graduate (I'll need to take a year off to save up the money) I'll absolutely love living out on my own in Tempe. Establishing my own life out there. It will be so amazing.
Flagstaff isn't as active as I thought it would be. Although the leaping hug I got from Heather was well worth the trip in itself.
It was the first time I had ever seen snow. Standing outside of the mall just watching it come down was a moment I'll never forget. What can I say? I'm a fucking sap.
We left Flagstaff around 11:30PM. The drive home was probably one of the few points in my life when I had absolutely nothing on my mind, save for my driving. It was pitch black. Couldn't see a damn thing except the road in front of you and the headlights passing in the other direction. No sky, no mountains, no nothing. Just the road. It felt great.
Steven and I might get out to Flagstaff at least once a month. The drive up there was more fun than I ever thought possible. Only next time we'll leave much earlier in the morning so we can arrive there before everything closes.
It was a good weekend. It was a very good weekend.
