Depression is not a trend, it isn't cool or even some series on Netflix. Depression is a illness.
I have it, you have it and probably most of your family and friends have it too.
Stop deifying it and using it as a fashion statement. If you are feeling bad, only you can go and try to change this. It's not easy, but it's personal and untransferable. I took 7 months and 3 bad breakdowns until I realize I was sick and needed help. I went to a doctor and had to take medication and adapt it through the next couple of months as well. I still depend on it, have some bad days but I am moving on.
Your friends can be around to help you distract and talk, cry, even take you out on an appointment , but please do not make this their responsability because YOU don't know how to get out of it. We all have our troubles and, as much as we wanted, we couldn't help everybody else.
I have several friends that are going through this but it makes me ill to see the directions that this is taking. The every day spread of memes, gifs, movies, books, songs about it but few people propagate solutions or medical assistance.
Don't drain your friends out if you are incapable of taking an atittude, because this only depends of yourself.
Shall we think more about taking care of ourselves?
