Random stuff update. I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything so I figured I'm make a few notes about stuff.
-Panic! At the Disco are fantastic live. They really did have a great show and the main singer dude sounds just as great (maybe a little better) live. For the show they followed the second albums feel by slowing down the majority of the old tunes. I really enjoyed it but it seems a lot of their emo kid fans were not pleased. Phantom Planet was the first opening act. They were filled out by members of the hush sound and Motion City Soundtrack because I think Phantom Planet is down to two or three dudes now. It was odd because just five years ago Phantom Planet was my midi ringtone and they were having good sized tours of their own. This was my second time seeing the Hush Sound. I still like the majority of their songs but their fans suck. They don't dance or anything just stand there and look sad. Motion City Soundtrack was interesting... I've not really heard much from them (yes because I like my musical black hole). People kept trying to crowd surf to them. They had to stop playing four times so they could dig the kids out of the crowd. They all really were kids around 15 or so. I'm sure a few of them needed stitches and had some serious headaches. Thankfully all that stopped when Panic! took the stage.
-Shoes would make a fantastic weapon in hand to hand combat. Especially ones with long laces. If you were truly skilled you could tie the shoes together and make shoe-chucks. This is why it freaks me out a bit when Manda, John and I hang out. John and I are far to much alike in how we think. Really, it's kinda scary that she's going to marry a male version of me.
- I've been watching Skins. I know I'm about a year late watching this show but I still enjoy it. It's seriously fantastic in a completely on crack kind of way. If that's really what life is like for 16-18 year olds right now the helping profession is going to need a big raise to work on the issues these kids will encounter over the years. I'll give a bit of a run down on characters at the start os series 1 so if people want to check it out they can.
Tony who's a total ass. He's the guy who can get away with murder because in the end he'll just smile and walk away leaving you to say 'that's just how Tony is' and you will continue to put up with his shit.
Michelle is Tony's girlfriend. She's pretty and tall and has 'the best boobs' (I find this completely silly. They're nice and all but not the best.) Her Mom's been married several times over and she deals with Tony's shit all the time. Sid is Tony and Michelle's best friend.
Sid is a virgin and a general slacker. He happens to also love Michelle. He's a sweet kind of a dopey kid. Really I would totally be his friend because really he reminds me of my friends in high school.
Chris is a total nut. He's off the wall and totally into just about any drug he can get his hands on. Not that everyone else isn't but he's the worst. He really cares about his friends, most of the time he cares for them more than himself. He has a crush on his Psychology teacher, but really he's a fan of girls in general.
Maxxie is gay. Really you don't hear much about him till over half way though the series. He's a dancer and a good friend. Everyone is completely cool with him being gay and thus far (I've not finished series 2 yet) I'm proud to report his story has nothing to do with HIV or AIDS.
Anwar is Muslim! Shocker right? Well it is in the US it seems. He's into drugs and such like everyone else but he does get conflicted sometimes due to wanting to keep with his religion and culture. He still wants to fit with his friend though.
Jal plays clarinet. She's really good. Her Dad is a hip-hop producer and doesn't do much parenting. She lacks story in series one I thought. She gets an episode about her clarinet and she's there for Chris when he needs someone but she doesn't get a big story till series 2.
Cassie is a suicidal, anorexic drug using sweetie. She's a space case even when she isn't using anything, in a good state of mind and eating. She's really sweet even if her smile is plastered on from time to time. Her family is ... special to say the least.
Effy is Tony's little sister. She's a slutty 14 year old who gets into things way over her head. She really only cares about her brother and he's the only person who really understands her.
I will say my favorites are Cassie, Chris and Effy. If you're interested in the show don't look into the main site it'll spoil you completely. If you'd like to watch it let me know and I can hook you up with some links. It's based in the UK so it's not easy to get ahold of.
-My Graduation party is this coming weekend. I'm making a playlist of doom. The doom comes from it being so long. I'm only to 'i' in alpha. by song and it's over 2 hours already. I don't want to have to make cuts but it looks like I'll have to.
I think I've rattled on far to long. <333 for you all.
