Be free, be youself, be proud of everything YOU. Maybe you can pull a little on your boyfriend's self-esteem (or the missing of), cause his complaining is not about you really but about himself. And besides, where is equality? Guys are allowed to show nipples for decades - yes, that was not until the 1930's or so - so let's start to #freethenipple ... Hoping for some more wisdom growing on your bf :-)

I would view that sort of attempt at control as a major red flag, especially if it's happened more than once and he didn't listen to you. Sometimes men are given slack for comments and behavior that in no way deserve it, just because those attitudes are common in the culture. It's the kind of thing that, if ignored in the early stages of a relationship, can lead to a lot of misery on down the line.
