So yesterday was Ozzfest in Indy. Mixed feelings, really. I primarily only went for a few bands, namely Arch Enemy, Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, In Flames and Ozzy, himself. First off, we got a really late start in the morning, so even though it started at 9am, we didn't get there until 3pm. Normally it wouldn't have mattered. We would've just missed bands we didn't even really care about. Not so this time! Arch Enemy was one of the very first bands to play, so needless to say, we missed them. We came just in time for Rob Zombie, but were dissapointed because his set at the last Ozzfest was better. Then, they fucked up the timing of the shows, so by the time we left the 2nd stage where Zombie was and got to the main stage, we missed half of In Flames' set. Dammit. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that Ozzy was sick, so Black Sabbath wasn't even going to perform at all. Shitty shitty shit shit so far.
However, when we say Shadows Fall and Mudvayne play, (neither of which I'm a big fan of) I was pleasantly suprised. They are a hell of a lot better live! Then, when Maiden came on, they rocked the fuckin' house. That was such a good show, and they played all the great ones, like 666 the number of the beast, aces high, etc. Awesome, awesome. Oh, and they even brought out their huge satanic goat dude who would look around and looked all cool and evil.
I guess I would say that I had fun, despite the down sides. I ran into a bunch of friends, heard some good music, and I also got to check out an assload of shitty ass home made tattoos. Ha! I love Ozzfest...
