Yesterday I got to visit my first convention and it was amazing! Wizard World visited our little city this weekend and i had such a blast! I saw so many good cosplays and i met so many new people. It was an amazing experience. I was in my niche, with my kind of people. I felt so at home and it's one of the first times I didn't get anxiety attacks being in such a huge crowd. That's saying a lot.
I only got to visit for one day and Saturday had so much to offer my friend and I. I didn't end up at any panels or leave with any autographs, but I did get to leave with a close encounter. I almost ran into Tom Felton! Seriously. He was walking around the con the entire time he wasn't at a panel or signings making a documentary. He was interviewing different cosplayers. So, my friend and I tried walking in a set of doors that weren't entry doors and him and his crew were walking out the set next to them. As I was turning to walk around the building, they walked out of the doors and I wasn't paying attention and I almost walked right into him while he was interviewing someone! I felt so bad but I was frozen after I realized who it was.
I got a just a few photos the whole time I was there. I'm kicking myself for not getting more. I'm going to post all of the photos in an album so if anyone wants to look they can, but I won't bore anyone with them. I got a lot of cosplay and a few of me with our local Star Wars group! R2-D2 cat called me as I walked toward toward him to take a photo with him! It was so hilarious. Even Asajj Ventress commented on it. She thought it was funny too. It made my night that I got to interact with the Jedi group.
Like I said, it was an amazing experience and I abdolutely can not wait until next year.
