Turns out that my destination today is the location of 3 wildfires in Idaho and access is restricted. Had I bothered to check before heading out I would have known this before hand and wouldn't have had to backtrack. The irony was that I figured 'If I cross the mountains maybe there will be less smoke. Nope, more. Even with a slight re-route I was able to get some hiking done and take some photos. By noon the sun was filtered through so much smoke that everything had the same orange glow at sunrise. Most of my day was spent in the creek crawling and scrambling over and under logs. Overall today went pretty good. Here's a few out-takes.
