My sweeties,
I apologize for my long absence. My recent update in employment status (ie, hired!) has left me with either little time to myself, and/or absolutely no motivation whatsoever.
Life has been pretty stagnant. I love my job to pieces, if nothing else for the environment. The people are laid-back, the opportunities are fantastic, and everything is great.
As always, you can check me out on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/ladycalypso . Make sure to send me a message before you request friendship, though...Otherwise, I'll just ignore your punk-ass!
Monday was a good day. A good portion of San Diego's population was taking part in the boycotts that went on in regards to the current attempts at changing our immigration laws. I got to work a good 10-15 minutes earlier. Coincidence? I doubt it very much. Without the damned freeway being blocked up by a million different '76 Chevy pick-ups in all lanes, driving 45mph parallel to one another, traffic was moving nicely.
A one-day boycott? Are you really that lazy? Don't boycotts usually take place for days, weeks, months?
I'm all for legal, moral immigration. Hell, I'm even all for granting amnesty to the aliens already here. They'll start receiving minimum wage (they win) and they'll start paying taxes (we win). Hell, I've even heard that they may owe backtaxes. That's awesome!
What I am not for is anyone, and I stress anyone, infiltrating a country and taking advantage of, and draining, its governmental systems. Canadian, Mexican, Dutch, I don't care. Don't do it.
Fuck. I hate people. I especially hate LAZY people.
RIght now I'm watching "Kingdom of Heaven" for the umpteenth time. I woke up this afternoon with a slight fever, a splitting headache, and moderate dizziness. My headache started sometime last night at my CEO's Cinco de Mayo party.
I was one of two or three people who remained sober the entire night...which is all well and fine with me. One of the IT guys was shit-faced by 5:30pm, and I spent a good portion of "party time" tending to him. I brought him plenty of water, made him rest, and gave him napkins when he threw up into a box beside the Port-a-Potty.
Every time someone would pass him, he asked, "How's your computer?"
We all did some karaoke, played some Halo, and chatted it up. It was a good night.
I'm gonna go crash out now...the fever is getting to me.
