Well that was fun! After a twelve month ongoing spat between myself and Idjiit on the photography forum (apparantly because I'm a tactless prick) I finally decided that our little blood feud....well, his little blood feud to be acurate, wasn't really helping anybody and thread were constantly escalating into a flame war between two factions.
I've always said that it is easier to like someone than hate someone but Idjiit seems to be fully committed to putting in the extra effort. I even PM'd him once suggesting that we put all this behind us and try to get along; christ I even sent him a friends request as an olive branch. But apparantly (and I quote) he doesn't want to be "associated with someone like you".
In his last flame war he did moderately covertly say that he had no respect for my work, which is odd as I have about ten pictures on this profile that really don't represent my professional output. I do find it ironic that this comes from someone whose life seems to revolve around shooting dogs jumping through hoops, whilst I'm sitting here considering an offer to go to Afghanistan with the army for a couple of weeks, but find that it clashes with a commercial shoot for Ford. Jees, maybe one day I can aspire to his level!
So if any regular friends are dropping in I'm sorry for deserting but one of us were going to have to either knock it on the head for the sake of the other members (tried that, but he obviously dedcided that wasn't going to stand) or leave the group....and let's be hounest he was never going to do that.
I know that I can be a tad opinionated at times and do tend to speak my mind rather than just administer massive pats on the back for shit work, but at least I don't spend my entire life reading optical performance charts and commiting to memory circle of confusion theory. Some of us are too busy taking pictures.
Oh, and I've got a sore throat - someone suggested lemon pips as a miracle cure, Idjiit would probably suggest sulphuric acid - anyone else got any decent home remedies?

Sorry. Not sure what I'm trying to say here. I came to say I think it is ridiculous to leave the group just over some paltry Shakesperian feud. You are both obviously very talented photographers and approach the art form from widely different angles, which, if harnessed constructively, could be for the benefit of the entire group. Idjit seems like a very nice person with a bit of a superiority complex. Same as you. I don't mean this as a slur at all. Perhaps if you'd met under different circumstances you'd be laughing over this bullshit, having a beer together. The internet is a rash and retarded place. And I've typed far too long. Cheers, hope to see you return under better conditions.

Calvers, I'm sorry you left the photography group. I hope you reconsider.
