Had a fantastic night out yesterday. The girlfriend and I went to an outdoor screening of Donnie Darko in Kensington Gardens in London. Heeeeeuuuuuoooooge screen, 10,000 people and about three bartenders serving warm overpriced Stella, but still a laugh. We just crashed out on a blanket with hot dogs, popcorn and ice cream. We wanted to get a couple of bottles of wine, but weren't...

I appreciate the comments about which camera to buy here, but in terms of printing, which is the ultimate goal with my photograhy, wouldnt a higher be better?
I currently am using a wonderful 5.2MP consumer grade HP camera and it does take some lovely shots, but when it comes to printing them, I still get the aliasing I hate.
I am not going any bigger than a MAX of 8x10 for prints and I am going to a quality printer... I guess Im choosing between the newest Rebel or a higher grade cam...
Another side of it all would be relating to lenses.. that is invariably where I should spend the "big" money, so does it even matter if I get a larger more powerful camera or should I make the investmnet in the body as well?
I dunno... I guess I just dont want to make a huge investment and then get back pictures I dont like...
Edited for spelling,..

And so what now??
Good to be back.
I feel really bad not posting for so long and forsaking my friends. Quick update on the Plymouth; the first staff car report ran last month in american car world, but it still isn't on the road. The cooling problem is still suspect and my attempt to sort out the wiring issue has resulted in a horrible misfire. I need to...

Killer pics from the Guilfest.
I like getting an insight into what it's like to freelance as a photog (and actually make money). I have been doing the freelance thing, but I am a student, and not able to put a lot of time into it though, and thus don't make much at all money out of it. I have been trying to nail an internship at the local weekly paper that pays well, but havent managed to get it.
And as for the terror, I think you nailed it. The terrorists are trying to divide us, to seperate us and cause and promote hate, because they know they can't win a straight out war.

Christ, it's been a while! I seem to have either been spending too much time working, taking my car to bits and reasembling it, or been out of the country.
I have been up to my eyes in work, so sorry I haven't posted for so long, I'm tied up for a month doing a fashion shoot for the designer John Richmond. Glamorous models? locations?...

And welcome back!
The other half is finally back from the maldives. The first thing she asked was "do we have anything for sun burn". My answer was "er, yeah....fucking skin grafts!" Despite being Maltese and used to the sun (and a passsionate purchaser of gunk, creams and ungents) she neglected to remember that being on a Hobbie Cat for 4 hours will result in serious damage. I'm...

A couple of catologue shots in the new studio
Studio is finally 100% finished and I had my first client. Basic fashion shoot, catalogue stuff so nothing too creative required. I'll get around to strick some shots into my pics page at some point. Its amazing how easier it is to bang out a decent frame in a studio, especially when you really tune in how the walls bounce light. I must get some...

nice car.
congrats on finishing the studio
I've finally finished the studio. I'm going to have to keep this brief (which I'm sure everyone will be delighted about) as, in the process of laying laminate flooring (which must be the progeny from a drunken liaison between satan and Ikea) I managed to clout the tip of my left index finger with a hammer. This means that I can no longer type the...

Hey Calvers! I remember the time you ripped into someone for the hookers idea and I applaud you for it. Maybe if I hadn't found the treatment of the roadside memorials offensive....(pictures were fine, but the intro sounded insincere, pompous and trivializing as hell. First time anyone had managed to offend me without directly insulting me in over a year.)
--By the way, 'ass hat' is hella self-explanatory. That's the problem with you Brits--no grasp of the English language.
This is the part where I run away, giggling hysterically.

Thanks man...I didn't do anything to the shot other than convert it to b/w and remove some noise. This was just some practice shoot and the light source was a tungsten lamp.
Oh my god! Just picked up the Plymouth. It was from a dealer in Andover, which is about an hour from home, so my other half drove us there in our mini cooper and follwed me on the cruise home. I've had lotus, porsche, jaguar, even a grotty old Ferarri for a bit, but nothing turns heads like this thing. Every car that passed on...

Good luck with the set, and there's nothing wrong with liking girls that look underage.
As the saying goes: I like my women like I like my scotch: 12 years old, and full of coke!
Frenchy....why I oughta (shakes fist) hehehehehe!
