I have been such a slacker on my @bloghomework so here it goes @charmaine @rambo and @missy. Please forgive me!
10/17: What is your favorite past Halloween costume? (pics or it didn't happen!)
I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was like... 14 or 15. I think I dressed up in a burkah which was really controversial considering it was post 9/11 so no one in my family took photos. I was such a rebellious teenager. LOL. I was more focused on getting high and drunk than anything else.
10/24: Tell us your best ghost/spooky story! Can be a real paranormal experience you had, a story you heard, an urban legend, or a fictional tale that you make up!
Oh jeez. I could go on for DAYS on this subject. I am a psychic medium, empath, and low level druid priestess. I have paranormal experiences at least once or twice a day! BUT if I HAVE to pick one story to tell you it would have to be this one time when I was 18...
I was living on my own in Charlotte, NC at the time and I felt invincible. I remember falling asleep and having a very odd lucid dream. I was laying in bed (in my dream, or at least what I thought was a dream). I felt ice cold and tried to pull the blankets up but I was frozen, and I couldn't move. I tried to utter the words "what the fuck" but my lips wouldn't move. Next thing I know I see a 7 foot black cloaked figure step out of the shadows in the corner of my room and walk towards me. There was no face. There was no specific shape. I was scared beyond belief. I was sure it was death coming for me. I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, but all I wanted to do was scream at the top of my lungs, "YOU CAN'T TAKE ME YET, I'M NOT MEANT TO DIE." It stood there peering over me and leaned in like it was coming in for a kiss. At that point I was able to blink and I "woke" up. I was able to move but all I could do was cry and shake uncontrollably. I have had some close calls with death before, but this time I felt like I stared him in the face.
10/31: Write about your favorite author or book.
Madeleine l'engle the author of A Wrinkle In Time. I'm not even sure what to say about her except she was way ahead of her time and such a pioneer in the literary world. If you haven't read the book, you need to. It is essentially self explanatory.
11/6: Share your fall (or spring, or whatever season it currently is where you are) photos!
It is currently Winter in my area. It is cripplingly cold but we are yet to see snow. The only photo I have of the outdoors since my shoots this summer is of my car when it tried to commit suicide because it's so cold. The transmission died and it decided to jump forward and lean off a 4 foot ledge and almost go into on coming traffic right outside of my work. It was cold as hell and raining.
11/13: What is your favorite group on SG and why?
Pierced and Everything SG are a close race, but if I HAD to pick, I would go for Pierced, simply because my day job is a body piercer. I like being able to help answer questions both on a professional and personal level. Body modification has always been a huge part of my life, and now that I get to live it everyday its a whole new ball game.
11/21: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
Mashed potatoes with gravy. I always end up getting one plate just for those.
11/28: What are your pet peeves?
Being interrupted, smacking while chewing/ chewing with your mouth open, grinding your teeth.
12/5: Write about a disastrous trip or vacation.
When I was three maybe four years old I remember going camping once with my mom, brother, and some of my moms friends on some kind of island. It rained the WHOLE TIME and we were there for at least a week. On the flip side, it never rained during the day. Well, one night my tent sprung a leak... that turned into a monsoon. It woke my mom, myself, and my brother up so we had to pack up out stuff inside the tent ASAP and ran to my moms car where we slept in for three days or so. I chose to sleep in the trunk and remember playing "mechanic" while tinkering around with the speaker wires. That was my favorite part about the whole trip.
12/12: What are your holiday traditions?
When I was a child I grew up celebrating Channukah and Christmas. I would go to mass with my grandparents and open presents but with my uncle, my aunt and her family I went to Synagogue and played dredel. Now, I just buy some treats and maybe a new toy for my pets, go home and play with them. Maybe try to treat myself to a nice meal out, like Cook Out. LMAO. I am a simple woman with little money so I make the best of all situations regardless of the circumstances. There is always someone out there in more dire straits than myself and I try to keep that in mind to stay humble and appreciative.
12/19: Tell us about the best/worst Christmas gifts you've ever received!
My mom one year when I moved back from Culinary School, she gave me an old Little Mermaid Barbie that had been sitting on her bookshelf for over 10 years. She wrapped the unboxed, unkempt doll and handed her to me. "Merry Christmas" she says, "I thought you might like this.". >_<
12/26: Stories and photos from New Years Eves past!
I was at work at my secondary job (the nanny gig) and putting children to bed and washing dishes after dinner on New Year's Eve. There are no photos of my exciting life.
1/2: Your New Year's Resolutions!
Be more aware of my surroundings, be more considerate of others feelings, improve emotionally, stay motivated.
1/9: Guide to using Emoji! (for example: your favorites, what certain characters mean to you, tell a little story)
Emojis? Is it bad that I'm not that familiar with them nor do I have or use them?
1/16: If you could run your own business, what would it be? (Or if you already do, tell us about it!)
Well, technically being self employed is running your own business. I work as a Nanny on the side of being a body piercer. I love working as a piercer because it truly allows me the freedom to be who I really am and do something that I love. I don't make that much money doing it, but I have so much fun it doesn't matter. I love who I work with in the tattoo shop, these guys are my family. Besides, I get to help educate people on something that is still pretty Taboo in a lot of ways as well as help them make well informed decisions on some GORGEOUS body jewelry. *drools* I need all the opals! It is hard for me to talk about it when I have no idea where to start, but I always freely answer questions.
