I have missed a few assignments for the blog homework, and I am ever so sorry @charmaine @missy and @rambo!
So let's see what I have missed!
9/12: If you could invent something what would it be?
Oh jeez, something like this would be better left for my fiance or maybe my brother, they both love tinkering around with things and building stuff. I would say, if I could invent anything I would invent something that would make my life so much easier at the shop. I would invent an instantaneous autoclave. Meaning, you fill the autoclave with you tools, needles, jewelry etc and press one button and everything is automatically packaged and sterilized properly. Less that 30 seconds to do what normally can take me half a day sometimes. I love what I do, but making sure everything is in line with aseptic procedures and methods is quite a tedious task.
***Something like this autoclave (which I would kill to have if anyone out in SG land feels like loaning me $3,500), but more effecient which is damn near impossible.***
9/19: What is your biggest accomplishment in life?
I would say that my greatest accomplishment in life would be fulfilling my dream of becoming a professional piercer. When I was younger, I was offered an apprenticeship by a close friend, and amazing piercer. She told me when I turned 18 she would love to teach me the life and way of a professional body artist. Unfortunately, life happens and it took me away from my dreams solely for financial gain and survival. I thought I was doing what was right, but alas, I was wrong. I was content, but never happy. I made good money working in restaurants as a chef, server, bartender, and manager etc but it was never 100% satisfying. At the end of the day I was still pretty miserable with my life because I had to keep my hair in natural tones and in an obvious feminine style (whatever that means), I wasn't allowed to wear my piercings openly, was discouraged from stretching my ears, and god forbid I wanted or had a visible tattoo! I felt like I was being forced to censor myself and it was such a horrid feeling. I'm still not sure exactly how it happened, me landing my apprenticeship in SC and becoming a piercer, but as the old saying goes... "If there is a will, there is a way." AND "Everything happens for a reason." I actually surprised myself today with a smidgen of wisdom by telling someone today, "You will never become truly successful until you are happy with yourself".
***These images above are just a few examples of some work I have done this year***
9/26: What is your hidden talent?
I actually seen this one and posted it previously. If you scroll down a bit in my blogs you will see it.
10/3: Who is your favorite fictional character and why?
My favorite fictional character would be, The Happy Medium from Madeleine L'Engle's "A Wrinkle In Time". It was a a psychic medium but also a play on words. He/She was not bound by gender, race, nor religion. The Happy Medium, was literally a happy medium of life. The only and completely neutral being to ever exist. I try my best to emulate The Happy Medium, but actually being human can put a damper on things sometimes HAHA.
