Well I hope everyone had had a lovely Christmas this year
For me it's been a perfectly lovely peaceful few days, mainly cos I didn't go anywhere or have hoards of relatives descending upon me *lol* There are times when I'm truly grateful for not feeling bound by the whole *trad family* bollocks... hehe I knew disliking most of mine would come in handy one day (much cheaper when it comes to present buying for one thing )
Christmas Eve is always spent out with P and this year was no exception. Any excuse to get dressed up and go dancing is fine by me. Although I still can't believe the mad cow still goes against all reason and wears stillettos when she knows how much time we're going to spend on the dance floor *lol* Sad to see a distinct lack of old faces... very odd seeing as it was Christmas Eve, and too many of what I gather is the normal friday night crowd (alot of student types whose idea of getting dressed up appears to be grabbing whatever shapeless thing comes to hand when they are groping round the floor in the darkness of their room ... christ pull your damn pants up from around your knee caps and put some make up on.. and that goes for the girls too ok )But no matter what it was still a fun night, still seem to get poured over by everyone, and if you love my outfits so much then make a bit more effort yourselves ok *lol* Had to laugh when I actually got *carded* when I went in! A club I have been going to since i was about 14 and they finally ask me for proof of age *lol* And it's happening alot lately. I went to buy some alcohol as an extra gift for my step dad and the woman wouldn't serve me it until I'd shown her something that proved my age! Still I guess I should take it as a compliment.
Didn't crawl out of bed til about 11am on christmas day, thankfully my mother has finally realised that I no longer leap out of bed at about 6am to open all my presents anymore.. Usually I'm more likely to be just going to bed around this time not getting out of it. And so the Christmas phonecall didn't come til about 12pm. Most years her and jeff come over on christmas morning to give us our stuff but this year they decided they were staying home as they were out from 10 til 6:30pm last year so I can't say I blame them. At least this way they can stay at home and enjoy their day. Was nice though for it just to be me and L this year. Got in a bottle of Bucks Fizz for us for the morning and present opening... pretty nice haul this year if I do say so myself... I am now the proud owner of the craziest slippers in existance (pink furry yeti feet boot things... I currently look half woman/half muppet) and they are fabulous. L got me those, (yeah I get black lacey underwear off my best mate and pink furry hobbit feet of the other half *lol* go figure) and also a huge bottle of Flower by Kenzo perfume, some Discworld books (art book and the almanak) a really nice case for my new camera and some cute knee socks I wanted. Got some gorgeous black undies from P and a bath pillow set (yes I spend alot of time in my bath so its a very good pressie) oh and some wagamama noodle bowls and sauce set. My mom and Jeff got me the most beautiful umbrella in the world ( it has the raphael cherubs on it), some amethyst and diamond gold earrings and a cute cushion thing to hang on my wall bearing the legend *Veni Vici Visa.. I came I saw I spent* My friends and family know me so well *lol* And the cutest little kitty toy that miaows when you pull its tail (although I'm sure Buffy would do the same if I did that to her.. actually she never stops exercising her vocal chords so I suppose I'd never really notice the difference ) and some beautiful satin pyjamas from my lovely friend Sev too.
The day itself was just blissfully relaxed though as I said, had a lazy morning enjoying the bucks fizz, opening presents and then having a long soak in the bath. Watched 102 Dalmations (all those cute puppies *lol* and fabulous clothes!) before dinner and relaxing with a bottle of wine, a box of belgian chocolates and Return Of The King (bought the extended version for L for Xmas). Heaven! No hassle, just vegging out doing what we wanted.
Hope everyone else has had fun, whatever they were doing
The time off has also given me the chance to finish off some more customisations...
two more pairs of cute socks
