12pm Sunday and both Paula and i are sure this weekend is doomed (doomed i tell ye)
It started a few days back with the gig being postponed... ok not good but Dublin is still a great city to spend a few days so we can deal with this...
We get to the airport in good time, are all checked in and waiting in the dept lounge when an announcement comes in that the flight is going to be delayed whilst they fix a small technical fault a further announcement will be made in 15 minutes. Half an hour later, nothing.... then finally we're all told the flight has been cancelled and we can go and collect our luggage then make our way to the ticket desk to discuss our options! The thing is that even if we get a refund on the flights, we can't get one on the hotel so the only option for us is a rescheduled flight today, I cannot seriously believe there is only one fucking plane and one flight from this airport! Love the Ryanair posters that claim to be the on time airline all over the place *lol*
When we all finally get to the ticket desk we can either fly the next day from this airport, get a full refund or make a two and half hour journey to newcastle and get a flight around 4:30pm. The most annoying this is that this cuts into what little time we have but there is no real choice and off we go on a magical mystery tour all the way to teeside and the land where everyone calls you pet Seriously they do.. but then they're generally nicer than anyone i've ever met working at a london airport! Mind you that goes for most places in london generally Luckily we're still in reasonably good moods having decided that its better to go and make the most of the time than lose the hotel money. (a couple of glasses of wine also goes a long way )
And I have to say I'm very glad that we did
Sunday night we chilled for a couple of hours and then went for a wonderful dinner at one of my favourite dublin restaurants, where another bottle of wine and copious amounts of pasta went down a treat before a reasonably early night cos we both knackered from all the travelling (nothing to do with the booze *lol*)
Monday was spent in the best girly way possible... which of course means SHOPPING!!! Dublin is one of the best places in the world to go shopping, with lots of gorgeous little boutiques that you can pick up some amazing bargains in I think i only spent a grand total of 52 on clothing and came home with 3 tops, 2 dresses, a purple velvet coat and a gorgeous beaded black corset top Oh and some undies and a cute knitted cap. I'm also currently obsessed with the colour purple and have decided i need far more of it in my wardroble After a hard days shopping we went back to the hotel and shared a bottle of wine before heading our for dinner at another fabulous little italian place we've found there and ended the night watching King Kong at the movie house round the corner.
Sadly we didn't have time to do anything much today but grab some breakfast and head to the airport.
Nowhere near long enough and i forgot to take my camera so no pics. But at least we'll be back there again at the end of april *yay*
Oh and when i got home I found out the kitchen had been completely finished (all the tiling done) so my bf has been working his arse off whilst i was off drinking and shopping It was a lovely surprise though and i will have to post pics of how good it looks now later.
(edited to add in this)
finally before and after shots of my kitchen

Your kitchen really looks nice! A whole lot fancier, to be sure. Sounds as if you had fun getting away.
