I just want to believe there are still people left in the world who care for other people and don't live a completely self-centered life. Of all the times when you could break someone's heart, crush them, destroy them, why when someone is about to have a baby!? Do we live in such a culture of MEMEME that we can't possibly take other people's feelings into acount? I started a project three years ago, working with kids with disabilities, I created a new therapy here, no one believed in it, no one wanted to pay for it, and over the years results became obvious. Miraculous even. My big idea became a necessity for these kids and their families. DEAP began to pay for it and to approve more kids and more frequent therapies, Then WALLA. Fuck me I go and decide to have baby, and some health problems along the way and now I'm not"dependable enough". First they tell me they're concerned with my health (yeah cause everyone cared so much about calling to see if I was even alive) and then they say we found you a sub. someone willing to fill in till after the baby. Now I'm told she's just as good at what I do. With no experience, no passion, no heart, no time invested, DID i MENTION THE WHOLE THING WAS MY CREATION? Nobody knew ANYthing about working with these kids in this way, I just went in with an idea and figured it out. MY "sub" apparently has no kids and is divorced so she is more dependable , no life to get in the way. Despite the fact that I've centered my enitre practice around these kids, and i FUCKING DONATED THERAPIES for years when no one wanted to pay for it. But here I find I'm expendable. a piece of old trash. Someone should really come over and check my blood pressure. No peace today.

You shouldn't let things like this make you cynical, but you should bear in mind that most people who don't have something of their own tend to take from others. I'm talking about intangibles like ideas, concepts, movements, beliefs, etc. Everyone wants to feel needed and important in this world, and some people unfortunately resort to desperate measures to maintain that sense of self-worth. It doesn't necessarily mean they are selfish, but at best they are inconsiderate. In either case, these are hardly traits that should be displayed by anyone with authoritative influence over children...and yet and yet.
