This has been an interesting week on so many levels..Exams are finally over and it looks like I'll be keeping my scholarship..YIPPEE!!!! I can not wait to be done with my Masters and take a break from it all! Hopefully the job market will be better in a year and this won't all be for nothing...
I finally got up to the track this week..and wow, the economy has impacted the racing world. The barns are half empty, a lot of the horses look thin and tired..and the season just started! I was so proud to see my monsters looking good and happy in training, life on the farm seems to agree with them...though I do sometimes wonder how they will ever get fit since they sleep most of their days away!
My dressage horses are well..being queens as of late. Easter has decided that he, being the son of Fusaichi Pegasus, is too good to warm up with other horses..in fact..he's too good to warm up at all. He acts like a complete ass until he's in the show ring, at which point I'm so disgusted that I can barely remember our tests!! Oh well..he'll get over himself eventually. And oh, my poor Arbordoodle..he now has ulcers, apparently being bathed, massaged, fed donuts and worshipped on a daily basis has been "stressful" for the poor dear. Gotta love vet bills!
Aside from that, it was a pleasure to see a filly beat the boys at Pimlico today! That will hopefully do the industry some much needed good. There have been some wonderful stories to go along with the big races this year and it seems that people are started to be more aware of the need to take care of the horses.
Well, me being the exciting person I have been lately, I'm going to head to bed at 9:30 on this lovely Saturday night. It's amazing to think that I might actually get some time off this week!

I'm so glad that you got to keep your scholarship too and that you'll have some time off to enjoy now. Thanks for another glimpse into your horse racing world. I love the name Arbordoodle. I also love to be bathed, massaged, and fed donuts too.
