Yeah so seriously, the world has gone mad. Having traveled a great deal in my life I was living with the delusion that it was only the US media that focused on trivial, Hollywood-centric, STUPID stories (think Britney Spears running over a photog's foot..or anything involving the cast of The Hills). Well...I stand corrected. While talking to a friend of mine in Turkey today (the country, not the bird) I was informed that Britney losing visitation rights had made it into their news. Now, this is a country that borders Iraq, is in the middle of a political debate with the US about the Armenian oopsy (mass murder during war) and is engaged in a gorilla war with the PKK. How the HELL did Britney Spears make it into the news? GOD I need to move to the North Pole or something......oh wait..that's melting......
