Slightly crap news..
My roommate was supposed to move out at the end of March to California with her baby's dad, and my girlfriend and her sister were going to move in. So, my girlfriend gave her landlord 2 months notice, quit one of her two jobs (the farthest away one), and we were all prepared to get things going for this move. Then my roommate tells me she isn't actually moving. She's going to the US for a month to look for a place with her boyfriend, and then coming back to the apartment, but when she does come back, she isn't sure when she plans on actually emigrating...
She's saying my gal's sister can't move in because that's too many people, but it's okay for my girl to (even though she comes with 2 cats and my roommate has been complaining about my 1 cat making her baby allergic). I have no idea how somebody can be so..stupid? Unprepared? I mean when the father of your child lives in the US and you plan to move there, why are you going to look for a place for a month and then not plan to move once you get back?. Why say you're moving when you aren't? It isn't something you can really fuck around with because it affects people's jobs and lives. I mean, now we have until April 1st to find a new apartment, save first and last month's rent, start a full year lease and pay for a UHaul, when originally we were just going to take over her lease and continue paying monthly.
I am super fucking frustrated and I kind of want to tell her to get the fuck out. She has the option of going to her mum's and living rent free (good for someone who hasn't worked in years and who is planning an out of country move), but she "hates living at home". So instead she is going to lose me as a roommate and pay $905 a month while planning on eventually leaving Canada....seems like a real money-saving idea [/sarcasm].
I hope the rest of you are having less stressful living situations..
