I have to thank Edea, Scarlet, and one other (who I didnt recognize simply because of my own negligence) for coming to Emergence last night. It was great to see some new faces at the club, and say 'hi' in person.
Unfortunately I have to apologize it was not a terribly impressive night to go. There has been some drama as of late, regarding the old venue. They had signed a non compete agreement as part of their contract to hold Emergence, and here they are competing. So the crowd was half as big, as the schism in the regulars was in full effect.
Im a little irate about how it all went down, and how they have left us with half a crowd. It was a pretty shitty back-stabby thing to do. It shows neither respect nor decency on the part of the 'copycats'. I have a feeling that by doing this they have doomed the whole project to failure, as I fear (though I have no evidence) it made for a crappy night for so many of the first timers. \/Sigh\/ Typical Nashua crap. Im sure that its not up to par for anyone from this site.
But there were other people who were terribly impressed, and will be showing up next week. So that is good, there is hope. Growth and recovery are slow, but they will happen. Meeting new people is always great as well. Even with the low turn out I had a blast. Im not much for the dancing, but I love the social scene.
But new people showed up, and even if the girls didnt love it last night, I hope they at least saw some potential, and can at least say its not bad. Next week should be better. More of the regulars are going to be able to make it. Including the operator of the racks.
It was great getting to shake peoples hand and say hi. I feel less like an internet lurker.
