well fuck me...i guess i just happened to see about four long distance relationships go sour and watched people getting totured by the ghosts of it. damn you all have been lucky sons of a bitches. i've tried one and being with her broke a lot of rules for me as i was saying the one though that i shan't never have broken was that she already had a boyfriend. but he was being a prick and i really couldn't blame him...shit i'd be the same way...nah, actually i just be hurt but if i love someone, you know i have no need to put some chains on them and stuff. there's other more complicated and detailed stuff to it. the bottom line is that's a rule i had so i wouldn't end up on jerry springer, or murdered or having happen to me--cause that's what'll happen, they'll repeat the same behaviour. i'm more saddened by the fact i stressed friendship first and not a letter and it mostly went down the day i left to come back to this shit hole so it fucked with me for a second. the one good thing about being here is that a week feels like a month and you're so divorced from regular life and you have to keep your mind into things or you or one of friends could get killed i got over it quickly. also it was short lived. and well i ain't getting down about shit for a long while yet. i have some things i need to do in life and time's a ticking. every precious moment counts. i've already spent more than enough time in my life getting down over girls and shit i got a whole host of memories to make me feel bad if i need to do that sort of thing.
so i'll give the long distance a try in a better way this time. i've been talking to a beautiful girl from the ukraine. yuliya is her name and well...i know russian so it's fun for me to chuk and jive in that speak. beats the hell out of arabic. a nasty language if there ever was one.
man i'll tell you what about this place; it has evolved much since it cradled civilization. people here appreciate you trying to help them but there's a power struggle an the people with the green here really push around the poor to do their fighting filling their heads with crazy notions. and thus you got people decapitating each other. shit just ain't cool to see. you can see videos of it on ogerish but seeing old habib laying on the side of the street with his head in his lap is a trip. or finding bodies umped in the middle of the road with bullet holes. this is a real problem these people have and it's really their own. i'm no patriot or believer in countries but we really are trying to help. that's why i joined up in this crazy venture in the first place. let's hear it for niaevetivity!
man, i'll get some thoughts together and break it down on what it's like here. you think being in harm's way's all that frightening but it's not. i've had more guns pulled on me back in the states. the bombs, well i don't care for those too much. they hurt a bit. and you never know what just happened. it's just shit to see people live this way really. it opens you eyes. third world countries where boys where pink sweat suits that say girl power in english and they have no idea. the rich in these parts are sick bastards. this place is a mass of desperation. trash everywhere. no sewage system. piss and shit trickingly down the streets and the smell... the bloody smell!!!! stables smell better than this. port'o johns on a blistering hot day at some county fair smell better than this. a rotting corpse smells better than this. it's offensive. seeing seven year old kids smoking is a trip. little adults playing around in a jungle gym of corruption. no one gives a fuck but your family here. and that's better than it is in the states. there's still many miracles of life. smiles and laughter, little boys with wasps tied to strings flying in the air, a living balloon, soccer matches on sand fields, everyone drinking their chai. going into a house drinking chai and being told thank you over and over again. i mean this place is like any other, peaople are people but there's these things that are wild. no drivers licenses, so people drive which ever way they want down a street the wrong way the righ way which ever way they feel like it. it's a clash of times and ideas and cultures. and i say own with islam, down with christianity and judiaism. these male goatherded one god religions have spilt enough blood. if we're gonna have religions we shoul at least balance it out with some goddesses. and ones that aren't virgins who have children either.
well take it easy my friends,
chris

Also I'm impressed that you speak Russian - I'm in the 4th year of my degree and I'm still awful. Good luck with Yuliya
Thinking of you. Keep safe and sane.
yes a break would sound like heaven for you, maybe mix it up a little, some relaxing and some family time. you guys must have saved up loads of money being out there. so treat yourself.
well my evening tonight, my mum is ill at the moment and my dad and her were meant to being going to london to see their friend's son in a band. so my mum gave the ticket to me. so we drove up to london after a long time found a parking spot, went to an italian restaurant and i had the best pizza i've had in years, then we went to the club and his band were awesome. my dad had a great time dancing and meeting new people. so my evening has been pretty eventful, it's nice to spend time with my parents before i leave for a year. and then i go back for a couple of months but then hopefully move out to the states to be with my fiance, he will have moved back by then cause he's stationed in germany, i cannot wait for that, i miss him so much.
oh yeah, how do those kids manage to tie wasps to string? my friend and i were talking about it earlier, i find it wierd cause i normally try and get away from wasps, not keep them on a near perimeter round me.....hmmmm....strange can you help with my question?
