The very Pith and Marrow art thou
Elizabeth Akers Allen
At Last
At last, when all the summer shine
That warmed life's early hours is past,
Your loving fingers seek for mine
And hold them close-at last-at last!
Not oft the robin comes to build
Its nest upon the leafless bough
By autumn robbed, by winter chilled,-
But you, dear heart, you love me now.
Though there are shadows on my brow
And furrows on my cheek, in truth,-
The marks where Time's remorseless plough
Broke up the blooming sward of Youth,-
Though fled is every boyish grace
Might win or hold a lover's vow,
Despite my sad and faded face,
And darkened heart, you love me now!
I count no more my wasted tears;
They left no echo of their fall;
I mourn no more my lonesome years;
This blessed hour atones for all.
I fear not all that Time or Fate
May bring to burden heart or brow,-
Strong in the love that came so late,
Our souls shall keep it always now!
SCOTT A ESPINOZA
This next set of verse is my own, and it is free flowing and raw with truth and emotion.
I am waiting for her again.
To feel her flesh beneath me.
To sight the nipple ripe.
To scent the purity of woman,
and know her full on.
To hold her in my iron mount.
And to be mounted by her.
I hold these memories,
and these anticipations..
Most dear,
immediate,
and needed.
I face the loneliness of fantasy.
I put you first in my dreams.
You who art most close and sweet.
I want to make love to you unceasingly,
and yet, in your presence,
you are the most feared of creatures.
You to whom I have confessed my love,
you know it is true.
In the inner sanctum of your reality and reason,
you have licked it,
tasted the essence of my affection,
my steadfast dedication and devotion.
You know I love you.
You know it.
I see that you do.
It reflects back to me.
You are afraid though.
You sense it's power.
You know it's depth of love.
There is not any escape.
I ask you to be my bride.
You took it as a lark,
pure folly.
But, all you need do is look to my eyes..
when they drink you in...
and you will know I am in love with you,
That will never abate.
I loved you from that moment of our first encounter...
and I love you still.
