Albeit a little more gently, since my hip is still getting the better of me and the knee pain that had really helped start this journey is back with the a vengeance. You see, just about a year ago, maybe a little longer, I was really getting into a groove of working out every morning at home. I was so proud of myself keeping to a great regime for something like over 120 days straight, but then my right hip started hurting a bit. I powered through, and then my left knee started feeling like it was giving out if I stepped a certain way. So I went to a doctor who recommended a knee brace and some physical therapy. Gave that a good solid try for several months but everything started to feel worse. More doctors, xrays, a steroid shot...no relief. More doctors, MRI, the discovery of the torn labrum in my hip because of the bone spur. Bam! Coronavirus and we had to wait to do surgery. Surgery! Relief for a while recovery, PT....pain. Post surgery follow up, change in anti-inflammatories twice, change in PT....worse pain...knee problem is back. Second option with a different surgeon, another pain shot....more steroids......and we are back to another MRI and being told that I might be resistant to pain shots. Fun. We still haven't really addressed the knee other than at PT with stretches that just hurt the hip more.
New MRI on friday with a list of things that could be wrong in my hip.
More retail therapy, maybe too much more Danhausen
That doesn't include the bath towel and the like 4 other shirts.
Swung by a garage sale, husband got a killer deal on a big block engine, and this incredible 1950s Webcor stereo so we had to play something that fit the sound. (We paid all of $40 and it still works and sounds decent)
Chose to play the Twin Temple vinyl since it was recorded in Mono.
Spent yesterday moving 1 china hutch and marble-topped end table out of the house and 1 very large 3-piece bar with claw feet into the house. Now to put my too-damn-many sets of china and bar back together.
Had to put new shelves up in the rabbit's (Wednesday the 13th Baby Monster Jones the bunny) room for the figures that I may or may not be buying too many of. The figures haven't been secured to the shelves yet so he learned he can thump the wall and knock them over...what a fun little game o.0
Trying to stay sane. The last couple weeks at work have been pretty constantly busy, and a little more than tough emotionally, but they have reminded me why I do what I do....but it is definitely hard dealing with the mental state I'm in and the work load I've had. Unfortunately when I told my boss I was overwhelmed he, who is also a bit overwhelmed because we are a bit short handed right now, told me it was the nature of the beast and we are all overwhelmed.
Still waiting on the contractor. Still working on Halloween...still looking to buy a vintage hearse.
I hope you're all keeping tabs on your own mental and physical health and those that are close to you.
Stay safe, send each other messages of encouragement and love...we are an incredible community here after all (congrats on 19 years SG, crazy to think I've been a hopeful for almost 12 of those)! I'm always here to talk if you want or need. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
