Watch out world I'm out and about! After my false start back to work monday, at my 2 week post op appointment on wednesday I was given a lit of freedom from nuisances. First, they removed my little stitches and said I could go back to taking baths! Second they told me to fully ditch the compression thigh thighs I'd been having to wear. I can still feel a bit of a fluid build up in my knee and they told me just to monitor that. I can also now return the CPM (continuous passive motion) machine they wanted me using for 6 hours a day (straight up impossible...that device is/was awful) and finally I was told I can put full pressure on my repaired side and start weaning off the crutches AND return to work.
So I'm back to work, I'm wobbling around the house without crutches and going between 1 or 2 crutches when out, depending on how much I am out, getting to start on the active part of physical therapy and couldn't be happier! I have to be super careful about falls (we are working on my balance because to be honest I have never really had any) for about 3 months and can start working my way back to going back upstairs so I can sleep in my bed again!
VICTORY!
Astrid sure does like me sleeping downstairs though, he's always quick to curl up on me
