I went to Arkansas for a few days, Little Rock to be precise (another state to cross off the list of "hadn't been there yet"). Went for Corey's only 1st cousin's wedding. It was actually a pretty great trip, I wasn't fully prepared for the humidity but glad she didn't do it any later in the year!
And of course, being with my inlaws meant...alcohol. After taking my niece to a kids' discovery museum, we dropped her off for a nap and found a distillery and did the tour
We had to have a drink before the tour, of course, but at the end, there were 10 tastings. It's called Rock Town and absolutely wonderful, they told us they started distributing to Washington and now I have to go find it (didn't check and bag and so I couldn't bring any back with me)
The wedding was BEAUTIFUL. It was at this cute little winery, very very small crowd, and hell, I clean up nicely to become a bridesmaid
It was a very DIY wedding, so my sister-in-law and I raced around helping put together the centerpieces and helping everywhere we could before putting on our dresses. I may have helped in my share of emptying 4 wine bottles..which led to me enthusiastically partaking in the chicken dance and yelling at a bird in a bush....but it was fun!
We did come home to a minor flood in our basement. Thankfully nothing was ruined (this time) but we did have to call a plumber to clear the roots out of the line (from a tree on and at the city's property line in the pipes). Had to throw some more stuff on ebay to help make up the payment to the plumber and recover from vacation costs (thankfully we didn't have to pay very much to go at all). Also finally broke down to requests for the etsy shop for more "masculine" scented bathbombs so the Rugged line is now live.
