I hope everyone had a phenomenal Halloween, whether you partied the weekend before or celebrated on Wednesday. While it may seem like halloween is every day around my house (skulls on most surfaces, caskets in the dining room) we definitely tried to do it bigger and better. I always chose to do my celebrating on Halloween proper, so friends, food, drinks and candy handing out always go together. I've tried to get the reputation in the neighborhood of being the house to go to, and it seems to have worked, a neighbor who just recently moved came back knowing we had it all! Full sized candy bars, non food items for kids with allergies and Jello shots in syringes for the parents. I think we had 57 trick or treaters, approximately the same as last year, but there were a lot of dark houses in the neighborhood (the new renters next door kind of suck). My dad came over from Seattle and brought some of my favorite masks they've had my whole childhood, for me to add to my collection. He was a werewolf, Corey was Krumm from Aaah! Real Monsters, I was Lydia from the beetlejuice cartoon and Astrid was my Beetlejuice
Now I REALLY need a shed to store my caskets in. We built a sealed toe puncher style coffin to have in the front yard (dug a whole and put red lights and a for machine under it) and I really dont have room in my dining room for the table to be useable with the steel and the clear one.
Been working a good chunk, but it could be more. Hoping the Etsy shop will pick up for the holidays but I am still trying to get to train in other areas.
At work I am part of our Dia De Los Muertos event tonight at one of the funeral homes and my house is mostly dehalloweened (sad) but I am already planning for next year....and am just going to pretend Christmas isnt nearly upon us. The next thing I'm looking forward to is my birthday on the 21st of this month.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween and is having a great weekend
