If you know me...you know that the title of this blog is something that kind of....fills a lot of my world. Well, I have to applaud one of my favorite bands and good friends for using that phrase on a new track on their newest album! God Module...this blog is mostly going to be about them, but it's going to be full of epic adventures, so I hope you won't be bored!
As a secondary Christmas present (to Wednesday the bunny), my dad insisted on getting Corey and I VIP tickets to see God Module in Seattle, which was the first date of their False Face tour. Corey and I had supported their Indiegogo to fund the album and tour and it was nice to see it all come to fruition.
Now if you don't know anything about God Module (for shame..kidding, sort of) then this bio clip from when they were at Triton festival explains their style pretty well
Basically I listen to them daily. It's amazing. Well, since the last time we saw them locally, we've become friends, I chat with Jasyn (the mastermind with the crazy hair and the fishnets) regularly and we keep planning horrormovie/bbq days. (I try really hard not to fangirl over this). Anyways, we got to the show a bit early on Friday (yes, Valentine's day, the only Valentine's day I've looked forward to since elementary school when we got buckets on candy.) with our group of people, including Aron-the owner of the dreaming, Corey's second cousin (that moved up here and we've become fast friends with) Jason, and a friend of Aron's. We were just sitting around drinking and talking and I decided to go over to the God Module table and talk with the guys there, when I passed by Trevor Friedrich from the Witch Was Right (who are opening for God Mod) and he slapped me on the arm and pulled me in for a hug. That was the biggest fangirl moment. He's a great guy and I had the honor of driving him around Seattle once (when he was here with one of the other bands he performs with) and he tattooed my Lovecraft portrait. He saw the portrait and recognized me apparently. It was really nice to be remembered
As my mother said when she saw this photo " Look at Corey, that poor all american boy next to those two freaks". Gee...thanks mom.
Hung out at the merch table, really danced to The Witch was Right (with special guest Jon Pettibone from Himsa)
And got realllllly excited when God Module took the stage. We were almost at the front, but we scooted back a bit when I realized the gals in front of us were Jasyn's mom and his wife Courtney (who is sometimes in the band).
It was a fantastic show, and then I got all the extra goodies they brought us during the VIP stuff. We got the basic VIP: shirt, poster, dog tags, but we also got our indiegogo cd and signed sheep mask (worn and altered at Triton) and the prop he's letting me borrow, but now says I can keep...
These awesome claw gloves! I get to use them for a shoot. WEEEEEE. Also, I kind of looked awesome that night in my favorite harness that @jimcurt99 bought me and my new blue lipstick called DGAF
Saturday was my mother-in-law's birthday celebration and I was a bit dead on my feet, but Sunday morning we headed out for Portland! We got into town and met with @hemi_ at Voodoo Doughnuts. I miss this girl so much...I'm glad we get the small chances to see each other here and there
After doughnuts she had to run off to class and we had to check into our hotel. We really needed a weekend away from being at the in-laws. Don't get me wrong, it's nice living here..but as a young married couple...yeah...even my mother-in-law knows I'm not getting laid enough..that's sad.
Our hotel was nice and close to everything, especially where we settled on meeting up with @hemi_ and her dude for dinner. That place was delicious!!!! Thanks woman! After dinner, back to the hotel to get ready have Corey lace me into the corsets that his (2nd) cousin Jason's girlfriend had sent me. Man did we get that thing tight! God Module had found out we were coming down to see them again and were nice enough to put us on the guestlist for coming all the way down. Again..early, but again, we hung out at the merch table and talk with Shane Scare and Andrew (who is co-founder of Villain X shirts..go buy from them)
^(me and Shane Scare)
The show was again, fantastic.
For the price of a shot of jager, I got a one of a kind tank top from God Module (and was told to wash it first because the guy from another opener Mordacious had worn it first...and there was photographic evidence) and Jasyn referred to me as "Boobs" when he saw me off stage...thank you corset! We hung around while they were cleaning up, helping here and there and got to stand on stage with Jasyn..and then the epic! It was 2:30 in the morning by the time everything was loaded, but we got to go to Voodoo for a 2nd time that day...with God Module and Mordacious!
Can I tell you how much I adore these guys!?!?! Their idea of partying is a couple of drinks...doughnuts and geeking out. They are hilarious!!! It was so fun being with them, and still all dressed up. Corey looked sort of..normal...next to us...again. But it was amazing.
We went back to our hotel and died a little and headed home Monday morning.
So yes...that was probably the best Valentine's day/weekend I could have ever asked for! I got to see my @hemi_ and give her the M&Ms she's been fiending for and hang out with incredible people/incredible musicians.
And here's Wednesday the 13th the bunny being part cat..part monkey, all adorable
He's doing really well, spoiled as all hell, king of his very own bedroom. He's getting big too. I miss my Astrid cuddles, but I go to my parents to see him. I can't wait to have them both together again.
My shoulder is slowly healing. I can't really afford the physical therapy, but my mom is teaching me the exercises she's had to do since her surgery so I'm working on really strengthening the muscles. I can't handle another dislocation and I definitely don't think I could handle surgery.
Sorry I've been so...inactive here. I try to lurk and read blogs but it still gets a bit overwhelming. I will, however, be working on a couple of shoots in a few weeks with @skidtography ! I'm very excited. Man..that means I need to get back into shape FAST! Holiday eating has killed me haha!
I hope everyone is doing fabulously!
