So I've been noticing how my music tastes change as I get older. When I was real young, of course I didn't really have much music taste (aside from Seaseme Street or something). I look back and now see that the music my parents listened to , seemed to have stuck and influences what I listen to now.
Anyway, as I got older, and in more elementary school, I listened to anything popular at the time. It wasn't until late middle school I actually started collecting albums (tapes at the time, then CDs). I got into alternative with Pearl Jam and Nirvana, but some of the sounds I listened to when I was very young started sprouting. I was drawn to The Doors, CCR, and Lynerd Skynerd more in college.
After college, I started listening to more jazz and folk sounds. I really got into Celtic and Creole, as well as Dean Martin. It's like as I got older, so did my tastes!
Over the past year though, I stumbled onto Celtic Punk. I heard Requiem For A Dying Song on the college radio station, and have been hooked on Flogging Molly ever since. Ive also added the Dropkick Murphies as well. Last night I downloaded Charm City Saints. This sound seems to be a good blend of everything I listen to, and the beat is so up its hard to be sad and listen to it (or it's the fact that it reminds you of drinking.) I'm probably going to get some more Tossers soon, and see where this takes me.
Just wondering if anyone else has had changing music tastes over time...
