Just lucky to be alive! Burning down the driveway I picked up a nail in my right rear tire. When Jack Kennedy took the wheel off, the inner edge of the tire was worn down to the steel radial lining. I could have easily killed myself or worse yet someone else flying down the road. No wonder the cops kept pulling my over - they just be trying to keep me alive.
The rear tires when I started out to Oklahoma were not the Z-rated high speed tires you should have on the Cobra. I was running on bald tires one time and picked them up on the fly because the tire place I was at didnt have the Z-rated ones. I figured I would need new tires when I got home - I should have seen my boys at Valley Tires beforing leaving rather than after returning home. Not good!
The good Lord must have something important for me to do because I sure dont desrve to still be here. No more 130 mph or 80 plus for that matter, except if Im on the track, then it would be full throttle of course. I remeber reading at the Bondurante web site they require good tires or they wont let you on the track - there is a reason for sure.

Hello! Well I went to Jim's grave last April. It is still in Paris. They changed the headstone, it used to have a sculpture of Jim and a lot of graffiti. Now there is a security gaurd at his site 24 hrs a day! It was the most vandalized grave and there were too many people just hanging around the whole time so they changed it and put a security guard. But the guy just stood on the path and watched everyone, nothing crazy. It was the best day of my life, I have a lot of pictures. I think I'm gonna put more in that folder soon... I'll let you know when I do.
