so...bettina is coming to reno (of all places!) to teach a pin up workshop. all about hair and make up and posing. (!!!!!!!) i can't even begin to tell y'all how stoked i am. i'm so bad at make up, so i'm really excited at the prospect of learning more about it. and the best part is that they are doing a photo shoot at the end so we can really practice posing. and i get to keep the photos!!!!
here's the big conundrum (*sp?) though. a tattoo convention is coming through that same weekend. i found a rad artist who cave me an amazing price on a back piece. i'd been wanting to get this one for years, but it's always been a lack of cash-flow problem. i don't know when such a good oppurtunity will come around again.
the workshop is the day after i had planned to get worked on. after i did my hip, i was pretty sore. it didn't slow me down too much, but i'd hate to look uncomfortable posing. or for the tattoo to look super nasty. (it will be a little swollen for sure) do y'all think that i can suck it up and do both? cause i hate to have to choose. all advise is welcome and encouraged here.
the practice shoot went awesome really gorgeous light. blackarts is a genious and really comfortable to be naked around. but that's all i'm going to say about that for now.
what else what else? i've been on this organizing commitee for a demonstration to mark the 4th anniversary of the war later this month. it's always discouraging to see how few people will help with planning here. but some how we usually get a few hundred out in the streets. we'll see.
the 17th is going to be the world's busiest day ever. i have the march in the afternoon and then my band is playing a show that night!! the only good thing about this is that i'll be so nervous about how the march is going to go, that i won't have time to be nervous about singing in front of people.
AND........my man and i have started brewing our own beer. we found the coolest spot that's out on this hidden road by the river. they sell hops and fermenting jars and the whole she-bang. plus they have beer on tap there and you can sit in the sun by the river and drink yummy natural beer. so rad. and i guess they've been there for 20 years or so. i love secret places! our first attempt at a pale ale is currently sitting in this big glass jug in my kitchen. both of us have been facinated by it, watching it slowly mutate.
we've decided to be more commited DIY'ers and so next weekend i think we're going to try canning something. if i'm not too busy recovering from my new tattoo and taking bettina's workshop that is....
well that's about all i have to report. i'm off to chill with my two favorite ladies in the whole wide world, my best friend and my four year old goddaughter. we're all busy women these days, so i'm always stoked when we get to see eachother.
well y'all, happy sunday. have a good upcoming week, and leave me a good one eh?
