This is the Top 1000 challenge. It was first sent to me by an e-friend on here Westley who probably will forget more about films than I will ever know, but it was at first an interesting way to find new films to watch.
They have other lists on the site too, but the main one is the Top 1000, which I think they update every year. It's not a populist list like IMDB, so like the Dark Knight isn't #2 or #4 or whatever it is on that site.
The rankings are done by lists, fans, critics and other such things, but its the biggest and probably best list I've seen out there.
Even films which I rated low, I realized why they were on there. For a specific shot, scene, or technique that was never used before, and sometimes since.
