Mungus Fanaticus: The Mungus iPhone App and Our Return to Cincy
Greetings Horde!
On the eve of our return to Cincinnati on Friday (more on this in a moment) I wanted to take this opportunity to catch you up on what's going on in our Universe: Shows! Steam Punk! An iPhone app!
We've had a series of fantastic shows around the region in preparation for a grander Fall endeavor. Ill let you know when we have more information about dates and locations. There are some exciting things in the works I cant reveal just yet... and you, our faithful Horde, will be the first to know.
Those of you who have seen us since the release of our album know weve added a video component to our onstage personae. As we add new (and old) songs to our sets were adding new videos to the experience. If you think youve seen the show, we have so much more to offer! We have new instruments, hardware, and experiences in the works. One such creation is the Elder Bass, commissioned by myself and created by steam punk artist Molly Friedrich: it is the perfect balance between instrumental perfection (its a Carl Thompson bass at heart) and a Jules Verne-ian aesthetic, and will make its debut either on Friday at the Cup and Saucer in Cincinnati or at our next appearance in the Cleveland area at the beginning of August.
One more thing before I talk about the next show: we now have an iPhone app! By clicking this link here you can download the new Mungus app for your iPhone or iPod touch. This app will provide you with exclusive images, music (currently Liminal is the only music available, but in the future we will have live recordings as well), and links to our YouTube page as well as a fan wall where you can post your own comments and pictures. The app also provides a list of all our shows, maps to each, and will in future provide links to tickets. For fans with iPhones (or iPod touches) this is one of the most direct links to the band you can have.
And finally, on Friday July 10 Mungus returns to Cincinnati to play the Cup & Saucer Cafe, 5905 Vine Street, at 8pm. Well be performing with Addictive Tragedy, Legions of Fire, Shall Be the Conqueror. It will be a night of heavy music and great performances. Well be signing autographs and hanging out before and after our set so come and bring your friends!
Our love to you, oh Horde
~Benjamin
