Long Time No Blaag
The problem with making the decision to blog Monday through Friday is that you actually have to do it. As the design/merch coordinating/did I mention design? frenzy has become all but a waiting game now, I've been afflicted with a deep desire to avoid updates. Many a time have I sat before this screen (or the one upstairs) and opened my blog program and intended to type, only to hit Quit and futz about with Photoshop while trying to find something interesting online. Well no more.
At least not tonight.
We've been selling Liminal cds from our online store left and right, due in no small part to our newly launched MySpace page. I think it's a good look, a much more professional look, and it will do as a starting point.
In preparation for our tour to support Liminal I asked Tony Smith of Ingaldson-Smith Productions to create some backing videos for our performances. Tony's married to my former bandmate Flutter and after seeing what he did for his own band I knew he would be the right man for the job. Here is one of the sixteen pieces he designed for us (in a remarkably short period of time). This will be projected on a very large screen behind and above us. All hail the Tony! (A note: the skull is not included in the final version of the below video. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.)
Recompense
Before our Sunday rehearsal the band (and my lovely wife Amy) stuffed three-hundred-five envelopes with our radio one sheet and a copy of the album (with a custom radio add sticker already affixed by my very helpful mother), sealed them up, and added two more stickers to the outside. A third and final sticker with the address of the radio station or critic has to be added to each, but since I've not received those addresses yet that step shall have to wait.
In non-band news my HVAC's readout said, when I noticed it was sweltering, "SYSTEM FAILURE! CALL TECHNICIAN." They'll be out sometime on Wednesday to take a look, scratch their heads, and tell me it will be another week or two. We also seem to be having an ant invasion which is pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum from Delightful. I need to make another call to Terminix.
Amy and I finally received our wedding photos, and while I've uploaded over five-hundred of them to my Flickr! account (out of nearly a thousand) Amy and I need to weed them down a bit before I provide an official link for everyone. When I do, though, friends and family will be able to download copies and order prints.
Finally, Elektra, my cat who has not been doing so well in previous posts, is still with us. She's eating salmon but is still losing weight she doesn't have. She's skin and bones and is very weak. She's hungry and interested in eating, but will only eat in small increments. I'm feeding her five times a day or more just to get food into her. Cat food is officially off the table (though I still offer it from time to time). Her favorite is salmon and the occasional expensive cheese. One almost wonders if it's all a scam....
