Liminal's Estimated Online Release: May 13, 2009
Mark your calendars folks, the album is officially on its way to a slew of digital download sites as of yesterday*1, and after a final proof of the album by the band I'll be sending the album off to be printed. Months of work is finally coming to a very real and very cool fruition.
In the time between now and May 13 (and after, most likely) there will be some opportunities for the readers of this blog. From time to time I will be giving away FREE ADVANCE DIGITAL COPIES of the album, complete with full cd books in pdf form. For the most part the format will be MP3, but since we're also planning on offering Liminal in a FLAC format some of the giveaways will be FLAC encoded.
The only catch is that we'll need your email address to send you the link to download your free copy, and while I'm naturally suspicious of anybody soliciting my email address I can tell you this: your address will be added to our Email Newsletter, Mungus Fanaticus, and that's it. You can unsubscribe pretty easily (by responding to the email... it goes directly to my laptop from whence all the mailings originate) so you won't run the risk of being spammed.
We'll ask you to send us your impressions of the album and, if we like them, request your permission to use them on the site, but you don't have to do a thing you don't want to do once you win the free copy.
The rules for the contest will go like this: I'll post a message in the various places I post simultaneously saying something like, "The next five people who respond to this will receive a free copy of the album." I'll also be posting on Twitter so if you're not following me there get on it. Friends and family are excluded because they'll likely get copies anyway. When there are five people who have responded (and I'll compare time stamps from all the websites so it's fair) I'll post to let everyone know this particular contest is over before contacting the winners.
The first one of these will happen right after we mail out the album for printing, so... the beginning of next week?
Pay attention, campers! When we get t-shirts and other merchandise we'll add those to the mix.
