Less than Four Days...
I'm sick. I tried to avoid it, but I failed. Amy came home Friday night with a severe upper respiratory cold (by which I mean it feels like a sinus infection) and I took care of her by pushing vitamin C, zinc, and echinacea & goldenseal. I also bought her a neti pot (to which she took like a veteran) and hovered over her like a concerned parent. I took the vitamins and supplements as well (and washed out my sinuses with warm saline like a good Ayurvedic) but still woke up with a burning high in the back of my throat Monday morning. I've increased my zinc and C and am contemplating a visit to my doctor for a z-pac to kick whatever this is in the bollocks so I can be done with it now. I'd prefer to not be draining mucus during my honeymoon. Speaking of which...
I'm getting married on Saturday!!! Oh crap. I need to call Kristina at our reception site to confirm the number of guests. Hold that thought.
Message left. Ok. Right. I'm getting married on Saturday!!! It's been a fantastic process preparing for this event. Both our families have been helpful and vociferously supportive of the union. I'm happy, really and truly happy. Aside from being sick, of course.
I just wrote my vows. They've been percolating since October but it wasn't time. Today it was time. I think I might have said "I love you" too often so I'll likely edit it down. It takes me a minute and thirty-six seconds to read it aloud. It's mostly original, though I've paraphrased Khalil Gibran for a short section. Reading over it I'm very happy, though the fact that it's already making me misty does not bode well for remaining tear-free on Saturday. Several months ago Amy dreamed I delivered my vows as a gangsta rap and I've been hinting I might do just that ever since. These are decidedly non-gangsta (aside from the Khalil Gibran passages, obviously) so maybe I ought to write a rhyming version. You know... just in case.
Apparently when I'm sick I'm ADD boy.
On Sunday Amy and I are flying to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We were supposed to hang out with Amy Winehouse but she bogged off back to London once she heard Blaaaaaaaaaake was out of prison. (Actually it's probably better she's scooted off home what with her inability to keep her clothes on.) We're gone for a week, our first real vacation in as long as either of us can remember. I'm bringing my laptop so I can record what happens each day and archive our pictures and for no other reason. We intend to unplug for a week. Wish us luck.
In Mungus news mixing is finished for our album "Liminal" and mastering will begin in the very near future. When I get back from St. Lucia (assuming Wino has left anything standing) I'll get to work tightening up the art and layout for the cd and will design a couple of t-shirts as well. We're planning a full court press for this one and already have some out-of-town dates booked. When the record drops I'll be posting links and banners and all manner of ways for you to get either a digital or a physical copy. We'll even have several limited edition cds as well. There will definitely be at least ten small framed prints created for friends, family, and a few lucky fans.
I'm off to edit my vows and see how easily they'll scan into rap lyrics.
I promise I'll be more focused tomorrow.
