Learned something last night. you can write a song, then take it to a group of individuals (in this case my old band) and mold it into something that suits the sound of your band. But when you take it back to where it came from it sounds half as good as it did in the first place. That was the downer of the gig. I mean my old band was there some friends (who knew the songs) and me. And we all agreed on it. I should let go of these songs. The new ones sounded great, especially the one about "Suicide Girls", but the highlight of the evening was when I got complete silence from about (40 people) the audience. While playing "Jeff Buckley's - Hallelujah".
