What made you feel good this week
Now I am literally forcing myself to do this topic because I have been feeling so down and anxiety ridden this week that I need to do this blog to get some perspective and to brighten my attitude and all over vibe. Need to do some serious positive thinking and this blog is going to help me do it!
…..
I have been staring at this screen for half an hour trying to think of something that’s made me feel good this past week and I’m clearly failing!! D=
Gotta keep it small, start simple I think..
OKAY I got it! So over the weekend I went and watched the state finals for Miss Burlesque Australia.. last time I went to one of these events I felt totally defeated and sad because I believed myself not good enough to ever compete let alone place or have the motivation or creativity to get my acts to the level of the girls competing.
However this time watching the state finals and getting to see people I care about compete I was totally just INSPIRED!! I had a number of ideas bouncing around my head for new acts as we were walking out after the crowning. Feeling really positive that if I set my mind and energy to this competition next year that I could do really well!
Me and my partner always discuss shows after we’ve seen then, talking about what went well, what the judges obviously liked ect and I’m throwing my ideas at her which are all scattered and chaotic at this point. And I just feel really good that I have this new goal to work towards!
And then the next day as I’m wondering around work as it boring as fuck, one of my acts for the competition next year just came to me! There are 3 parts of the comp. The classical routines and the Neo routines everyone performs. But only top 5 scoring girls get to do their unique performance. My neo act just sprung at me, which was actually from one of the ideas I had told my partner but all the details came to me in a bang of inspiration and I’ve honestly never in all my time performing and creating have had that happen to me! The details from music, props, shoes, outfit, effects and everything were just there in my head!
THAT is right now the only thing that has made me feel good this week. I have something to start with and something to prepare for the coming of next years competition. I know it’s a year away but doesn’t hurt to be prepared! I hope to buy a little note book I can write all my ideas in and sketch props and stuff… it truly excites me! And now Im feeling all happy and excited again! Instead of anxious and stressed ^_^
Really needed this blog today. Thank you!!
Travelling News!!
Okay so as promised another section of my recent travel journal for you! San Francisco blog!!
Were in San Fran for a week and it was our 3rd stop after Las Vegas and Before LA.
Was not prepared for how cold is was going to be! Well in comparison to everywhere else we had been. I did not pack for cold, all I had was skirts and shorts! Safe to say I froze and wore the one jumper I brought with me basically every day. It was kinda like autumn weather. When the sun was out and there was no wind, it was lovely!
Anyway we got in quite late and were staying in the heart of San Fran, our room was proably the smallest thing I’ve ever seen. But it was still quite nice.. we had a shared bathroom though but we never ran into anyone else or anything so it wasn’t all bad. We were paying for the location mostly.
Took forever to figure out the public transport, trams, cable cars, metro, bart and buses was dam confusing! We got there in the end though. So yay.
We were just straight up tourists in San Fran. No shoots or family stuff just sites and activities!
We did your classic San Fran sites, visiting the Golden gate Bridge and taking a day tour to the Exploratorium Science Museum and a ferry and tour out to Alcatraz Island. I learnt a lot the day we went to Alcatraz which was really interesting. We also ate a lot of Vietnamese food in San Fran it was just so good! We also walked up 450 steps to Colt Tower up telegraph hill and basically died. Just died. My legs were like jelly.
I also tried Chipotle. It was god awful. Never again.
There were 3 main highlights for me in San Fran, besides all the sites and the food and the shopping.
First there was our visit to Modcloth’s pop up fit store on Grant st. I have been shopping from the site LINK since I was in high school, but with the exchange rate this past year I have really struggled to even look at the site as I know I just can’t justify buying anything. But they had a temporary (now not so temporary) pop up store in San Fran and it was the first place we went to!
It was so nice to actually try on clothes and have shop stylists help me out. I ended up buying a really cute romper! But what really excited me was this wallet. The night before I let myself open the Modcloth app and explore all the new clothes and accessories, as well as going back through my loved list and I see this cute sewing themed wallet and think “Man next time I do a modcloth order I have to have this wallet” and I move it into my wishlist. The first thing I see walking into the pop up store is this wallet!! Instantly I knew I was buying it, it was just meant to be! So now I have a funky new wallet, I hope I get as many compliments on it as I did my old one!
Secondly it was my Partners 24th Birthday!! I got up at like 2am to decorate our hotel room with streamers and a big Happy Birthday sign! I love birthdays and normally go full on all out, crazy gifts and stuff but it was hard to achieve this while overseas. But I think I did alright! I had bought her some of her favourite candy, some shirts form urban Outfitters and a Humans of New York book! We went out to her favourite Vietnamese restaurant from the last time she was in San Fran and I bought us a bunch of highly average cupcakes for dessert! I put some candles in them and gave my baby a sexy birthday lap dance. Followed by sex. Sexy sex. Yeaaahhhhh
Hahaha and thirdly the day we spent exploring Heaight Ashbury! Strolling down H street I had to control myself going shopping! We had a fabulous brunch together before I went and spent too much money. They had a great store called Bang On where they had printed stuff on plain shirts and tanks ect. But you could also custom make stuff! I bought an already made Space Jam tank but got to watch them make these booty shorts that said ‘butt rubs’ god I wanted to get one! I FREAKING LOVE BUTT RUBS! I’m all about butt rubs. Rub my butt!
Anyway, I also had a really great time in this awesome lingerie store, that had truly unique lingerie pieces and body suits, I tried a few on but instantly was in love with this one piece. I can’t seem to avoid the mint colour but this was such a great shape and instantly knew I could shoot in it while in LA. I just had to have it! We explored other stores and such too but they were the highlight!
San Fran was truly a much needed tourist week especially after our shit weekend in Vegas.
I’m glad I can now say I’ve been in San Fran but I doubt I’ll ever go back.
What other cities are worth exploring in America?
