SO last night my family went out for dinner in the city, my sister is here from London so its been a while that weve done anything like this. We had a nice dinner and then had tickets which we bought MONTHS ago to go see the Lion King Musical. We are jsut walking to the theatre and the stones that pave the curb are those shiney somewhat slippery stones and as my mom walks up them its like her foot just slips and she fall under herself ( we later find out there was glass embeded in her shoe which made her slip), as she tries to catch herself and as my dad tries to catch her she lands on her foot in a weird way and SNAPS her foot, it is sticking in a super unhealthy right angle to her legs and she is screaming =[ NO ONE in the world wants to see thier mother screaming in that much pain, in a busy street in the city. It was one of the most horrific things I have ever seen =[ I am still having this awful flashes in my mind of the moment it happen and its making me quite sick and upset =,[ This being said mom calmed down every quickly as shock set in and out of my dad and sister I had to yell at them to SHUTUP so I could call an ambulance which is going to cost us $400 jsut for calling >_< I cant handle people freaking out around me like my sister who was screaming, crying and saying I dont know the australian number anymore! When crisis happens I go into 'fix it mode' Calling the ambulance giving them her details, explaining how to get thier as I knew the hospital they were coming from. Organising ice while we waited and calling my brother who was not with us. They came so quickly and thank god! SO I went with them in the ambulance where they told me I was cool calm and collected HA while my dad and sister went to the box office and sold our LIon King tickets to people desperatly wanting them =[ They didnt seem to understand we were selling them because something awful had happened they were soooo thankful. At least they had a good night.
SO dressed in heels and a beautiful dress I was with mom while they got her to hospital, gave her more drugs, filled in other details for her and got all the info before my dad arrived. By the end of the night they had snaped her discolated foot back in place, had xrays, snapped her foot back again because it wasnt straight enough. She has 3 breaks in her ankles and a few torn ligaments. She will be getting 1 bolt, 2 screws and 2 plates put in her foot and has a minimum of 3 months recovery. We still dont know when surgury will go ahead because her foot is too swollen.
My parents are really active people, they go on motorbike rides and see movies and go to Melbourne regularly. They are also suppose to be renewing ther WEDDING VOWS in 2 WEEKS for thier 25th Wedding Aniverdary =[ I jsut hope shes allowed out of bed by then. Its the whole reason my sister is here. I ve already decided to go back home for a couple of weeks to help out. Dad is leaving for melbourne in a week and my sister to new zealand in 5 days I cant leave her with my 19 year old brother he would have no clue how to help. SO Im somehwta thankful for my unemployeed status right now so I can help.
As scary and traumatic as it was Im so glad she didnt hurt her spine, shes 52 years old and as I said active as hell, if she coulsnt walk it would of been just the worst thing for her. SO in light of that a snapped off foot is so okay but Im still very shaken and Im not going to lie disppointed that I wont be seeing the Lion King Musical anymore, mom feel so bad but she shouldnt we got our money back and everyones okay. Shes turning into her mother! Grandma always has falls.
Anyway please have your good thoughts and prayers with my mom I would really appreciate it! <3
p.s My first SG set comes out in 3 days and I can't even be that excited about it because Im so distracted with all this..
