Hello my loves of SG!
@missy @penny @eirenne
It has been a VERY long time since I have written a blog or posted anything for that matter! Before I start rambling, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
Now onto what has been happening in my world.....so much stuff! Work has been very busy for me as with the pandemic happening, I have had to deal with a lot more people....and during a time when things generally slow down! I have also been trying to deal with the joys of virtual learning with my son and helping him with that. We have been supplementing school work since he doesn't really spend that much time online (for good or bad). Trying to keep a 9-year-old boy occupied can be busy work! So being a mom and teacher has taken up a lot of my time to where my time on SG had to suffer because of it, unfortunately. I also was planning on some Christmas leave coming up in mid-December, so I was taking my time trying to get as much done at work as I could so when I returned, I wouldn't have as much to do and neither would anyone else in my absence.
I started my Christmas vacation on December 11 and god did it feel great. I can't believe it's almost over really! Unfortunately, that happy feeling didn't last as long as I had hoped. We have 5 cats and one of them, Neville, had been having some issues with a growth in his mouth. He had been on a few rounds of antibiotics. Just when we thought things were working, my hubby and I noticed that Neville wasn't coming in the kitchen after the magical sound of a wet food can opening. We found him hiding under our bed and with significant weight loss. Concerned, we took him to the vet. The vet felt a mass and did some bloodwork and stated they thought it may be cancer. They stated we could get an ultrasound to be sure, but they were pretty positive that their diagnosis was correct. We went through with the ultrasound and the vet was correct...it was cancer. Being it was so close to Christmas time and Neville looked like just a shell of a cat because of the pain he was in (he was not eating), we were forced to put him to sleep for fear our son would wake up and find Neville passed away and we did not want Neville to suffer. This was our son's first big loss and he took it very hard. Neville crossed the Rainbow Bridge December 18. He was such a sweet boy and loved you the second you pet him. We had adopted him from a shelter when he was estimated to be 1.5 years old...he had been there awhile. He was about 14 years old when he passed. I have to say I do miss him and one of the best gifts I got for Christmas was from my best friend, who I consider a sister.....an ornament with Neville's picture on it. It really meant a lot to us but especially our son.
With the passing of Neville being the only thing to make my vacation and the holidays less enjoyable (I hope), there have been a lot of awesome things! I finally finished working on a decorative piece for my little hobby room (which I also finally got a little more straightened up and closer to the way I want it)! Check it out:
I love it and it looks great in my little room! My son and I also worked on making a little gnome home instead of a gingerbread house....Target has such wonderful options instead of a regular gingerbread house!
My Christmas was enjoyable as well, except for Neville not being there, things were good and my concern for my son being down because he was not there was gone when I saw how happy he was with his presents. I also got a lot of stuff I wanted....including Mortal Kombat 11 and all the Pumpkinhead movies! Yes I am a sucker for cheesy horror movies but Pumpkinhead is just awesome.
Last but not least, with my vacation I have been able to get back on SG and catch up with all the beautiful sets I have missed! It takes a long time to catch up but I have finally caught up with everything. I have also gotten the chance to shoot a few holiday themed photos too (a little late but better late then never!). I hope to try to get back into posting on here and trying to do a few photos for my OF (which I have seriously neglected way too much). Unfortunately, I may not be able to do everything but I want to try to keep up on here!
So what will 2021 bring? Well, I don't want to jinx anything and I want to wait until it happens to talk about it....but let's just say I am super excited and I absolutely cannot wait to talk about it!
I hope 2021 will be a whole lot better than 2020 for everyone and this pandemic finally starts to go away and things return to normal...at least some. I also hope to see more of my fellow hopefuls, especially longtime hopefuls, turn pink! I can't express how happy I am to have seen so many hopefuls turn pink this year and especially those hopefuls who have been waiting for a very long time.....all of you deserve it! If 2020 brought anything good, it was a chance for more hopefuls to be seen and recognized for what they have worked so hard for. It also has shown that there are many models, SG and hopeful alike, who are not only talented in front of the camera, but behind it as well. Let's continue to support each other ladies and especially support the members who rally for us and take the time to not only view our sets, but write blogs that highlight models!
I hope everyone has a happy new year and I look forward to seeing more sets and hopefully getting on here more! To close, here are some pics from Santa's Favorite Ho:
