I am late writing this blog because it has been crazy since I got back from vacation! I went to the ocean and it was a lot of fun and a much needed break! However when we got home, it changed. I have 5 cats and all of them came out and greeted me. My one female cat, Luna, came out and I noticed some fur was missing by her tail. I looked closer and I saw dried blood and a really nasty wound! We took her to the vet the next day and the vet said that it was a lesion that either she bit open or one of the cats bit her and bit it open. They also said it is a sign of the beginning stages of kidney failure 😔 so she had to get stitches, staples and the cone of shame. We had to give her oral antibiotics and pain meds and a gel on her wound.
She is doing much better now and has had the stitches and staples removed. We took the cone off on Saturday but had to put it back after about 2-3 days because she kept licking her wound. Hopefully we can take it off after a few more days. She has to be on a special diet for the remainder of her life but she has been herself and loveable as ever. It was a little stressful at first dealing with all the oral antibiotics because she does not do well with that at all, but things have finally started to return to normal for her! 😸❤️
