Hello SGland!
@missy @rambo
So I kept meaning to write a blog about some awesome threads in the hopefuls group that should be checked out and I finally got a moment to write about them!
First, both of these threads mean something to me because I can almost relate to both of them (I say almost because...well, if you read on you'll find out!). Second, they are both created by hopefuls and they were created by hopefuls who can relate as well. I find it really awesome when hopefuls promote other hopefuls because we are all in this together...with our "hope" of turning pink one day. Instead of me rambling on, lets get to the first thread:
Longest Running Hopefuls by Starphire
Starphire is so sweet and is super nice...I had the chance of meeting her at the NOLA shootfest in February this year. We were all busy getting ready and simultaneous photos shoots happening, so it wasn't long but she is an absolute sweetheart....and a hopeful since 2004! In this thread, she mentions she started as a member and didn't do her first set until 2009, but still, this babe has been a hopeful for over 10 years.... 10 YEARS!!! A lot of women would consider giving up, but not Starphire, she has a passion that keeps her going and from some of the pics I saw from the shootfest, I think this will be the year she will turn pink (that's what I am hoping for at least!). She started this thread and brought some other longtime hopefuls back onto the radar, so new members, hopefuls and SG's can look at their work and say wow...they are super dedicated to keep going and they have some amazing photos...why the hell aren't they pink?!?
Now, I myself am a hopeful since 2017 (although my first set wasn't done until 2018). I would love to place myself in this thread, but there are so many ladies on there who have a longer run than I and I still feel like the new kid but kinda getting established now. Every set that I do that hits member review and doesn't get bought, I think to myself "there are so many other ladies on here who have been a hopeful longer than I, and have put out more sets and still remain a hopeful. These women are the ones I am going to look up to when I feel down...if they can keep going, I can too." I highly encourage you, whether you are new here or have been around, to check out the Hopefuls group and look at this thread created by Starphire. There are some amazing ladies mentioned and who have been waiting anywhere from 2-10+ years for their dream to come true and turn pink. Discover (or rediscover) these amazing ladies who have some amazing sets but fly under the radar....they will appreciate it immensely and will even moreso when their dream comes true.
There is another thread to look at as well:
Hopefuls over 40 by Melissalalucy
I may not be over 40, but I'm not too terribly far from hitting 40 (yes believe it). This site is full of so many hopefuls...and the thing about them is, there are many who are in the age bracket of their early to mid 20s....nothing wrong with that at all. But if you are 30 or a little older, it's a little harder to come by a lot of hopefuls....and hopefuls who are in that age range and turn pink. Age ain't nuthin' but a number (bonus if you can name who sang that song ;) ) and if you took a look at some of these women, they don't look their age at all.....some say they are 35 and I have to say no way! You look like you are in your mid 20s! Does that really matter though in the long run? Some may say yes, but if that hopeful has an amazing set and better yet, the confidence to say fuck how old I am, I am beautiful, feel beautiful and I love who I am, then who the hell cares about age? It's not often you see older hopefuls turn pink (although some have in the past few years) and it really is a shame because these women are still beautiful and have confidence that shines. Check out this thread and give some love to these ladies who may be a little older, but are young at heart and beautiful. They are willing to put themselves out there and up against a lot of younger girls. It's hard to be an older hopeful on here, but these women are giving it a go.
I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and I hope you consider reading these two threads and checking out the hopefuls mentioned in them. Maybe you looked once at a set and didn't look at how long they have been a hopeful. Maybe you didn't know they were over 40 or damn near close to it. Let's put these women on (or back on if they are a longtime hopeful) the radar and have some longtime and older hopefuls turn pink! They deserve it!
