Hey loves!
So my self shot set went into the MR queue last night which was great to see! I was worried that it wouldn't be accepted but it did! I tagged it for the selfshotcontest so lets hope it gets bumped up June 1st! Here is a picture as a sneak peek ;)
I have named this set, "Put Me In the Corner." I shot it outside of my house and let me tell you, I almost thought I wasn't destined to do it. My makeup was not on point and took me awhile to do. I wanted to try to shoot early before the sun really came out and time was going by fast. Then I went outside to try to shield some open areas so my neighbors didn't call the cops because they saw a naked person (and so I didn't scare small children) and my backdrops kept falling over and at one point, breaking. At one point I thought it is what it is and unless they were looking through the trees, they wouldn't see me. I managed to finish just before the sun was really starting to hit. It really can be hard work doing a self shot set! But it was a lot of fun and a learning experience nonetheless. One thing I really noticed about myself in this set is that I did shots that I normally don't do....less booty shots and more frontal shots. I am usually not confident with showing that area but in this set, it is more evident that my confidence level has improved....and I have this community to thank for that!
I looked in the queue and some of the sets that are part of the contest and I have to say, there is a lot of talent that I am going up against. Talent in front of and behind the lens. I of course am hopeful that not only will my set get chosen, but that I also turn pink. However, if it isn't from this contest, there is always more opportunity to learn and do better on the next....and I have another set in the queue from the NOLA shootfest that I am very excited about as well! So let's hope that if my self shot set isn't the one, my set "Age of Aquarius" is! And don't forget to show love to those who not only modeled but shot a set themselves...it really is hard work to do both!
Thanks all for you love!
