Hello loves!

I know its been a hot minute since I wrote a blog, so here is an update from my last blog about trying something new! Click here to read!
About 2 weeks ago, I was feeling pretty shitty....I was tired all the time and was taking naps almost every day. I felt useless and like I was not accomplishing anything. I went to my endocrinologist and lucky me, I was due to get blood work anyways prior to my next visit in July. With this coronavirus however, I think I am going to wait until things get a little better to get it done (hopefully they will!). Anyways, I decided that maybe I should make some lifestyle changes, very small ones, to see if that helped any. Well, I think they definitely did!
It may be the change in the weather that has helped some (the weather has been pretty nice here with 60-70 degree days...except for today where it is cold and rainy lol), but one thing I did was add some custom insoles for my shoes and work boots. I am usually not one to spend a lot of money on inserts ($20 or less is my limit), but these made a difference. I have also started having smoothies for lunch or dinner. My appetite isn't what it used to be, which is good in a way because my blood sugars have been high and now not having the appetite I used to, I am controlling more of what I am eating and how much. Many of the smoothies I have been drinking are energizing (and immunity boosting! Just in time for this virus!). Here are some of the first few I tried. The first one wasn't as tasty, but the second and third were delicious!
This one wasn't my favorite and had a weird taste, but it looks pretty!
This one may look gross and sound gross, but it was actually pretty good! I felt better after having it!
OMG this one was SO GOOD!! One of my favorites!
I had one today called Pumpkin Spice and Chill and it was AMAZING! I think it was comparable to Starbucks and their pumpkin spice latte to be honest! Having these smoothies, I feel better and am full. They are quick and easy to make, which is a big plus for me. Only bad part, gotta stay on top of cleaning the blender.
I get these smoothies as part of a monthly subscription from Revive Superfoods. I get 12 smoothies a month (you can get more per month and they have other options too like overnight oats and bowls). If anyone is interested in trying it, click the "spoiler" link below.
I have also started taking a supplement called Spirulina. I tried it in powder form and while it makes anything a lovely blue green color (again, I put this in my smoothies), I didn't particularly care for the taste. I started taking it in capsule form and while some of the benefits may not be seen (it may be reflective in blood work or tests), I definitely feel like it is helping.
I can't pin point which change I have made is responsible for what, but one thing that seems to be a constant is that I have more energy. I have not taken naps like I was before every day. I feel better about myself and happier. My right foot aches sometimes, but not what it used to. My blood sugar levels are high sometimes, but I feel like they are starting to go in the right direction.
Despite all that has been going on as of recently, it is nice to find something good that has happened. I have to say I am saddened to hear all of what people are going through. To all the SG's, SGH's staff and members who have been greatly impacted by this virus, my thoughts and love are with you and I hope things get better soon with all this stuff. My job is considered "essential" so I have still been working (I will until they tell me to stop), but my heart goes out to all of those who have been unable to work. Things will get better and this virus will be beat.
I have felt some of the effects of this virus. Stores are closed here and many events have been cancelled. Just today it was announced that schools will not resume until April 27 (and that's a big maybe), so I have been doing the best I can to teach my son stuff he was learning in school so he does not fall behind and can keep him mind growing. On Monday, I learned that a music festival I was going to go to in May, Sonic Temple, was cancelled due to COVID-19. We have also made some changes at work which make things more difficult and stressful. I know these are all out of an abundance of caution and rightfully so. These are trivial compared to what others are going through, but this is affecting everyone in some way, no matter how small or large. Please be safe everyone and take care of yourself!
