I'm from Dallas now in Duncanville
During World War 2, the Army Air Corps established a landing field for flight training on property near the towns main intersections. Post World War 2 years, military developed the Army’s old landing field into the Duncancille Air Force Station, which was the headquarters for the four Nike-Hercules missle launch sites guarding DFW from Soviet bomber attack. It also was housing for radars for the region.
When I was younger the military housing was still up, a few years ago they tore it down and built a larger library in larger part for the city.
The high school is the largest in Texas...
Those are the only interesting things I know of off the top of my head.
