Had a wonderful lazy Saturday.
Sumatran coffee,
A trip to the market,
Cigarettes in the fresh winter air.
Watched a couple films which are definitely worth mentioning. First was Howl, based of course on the poem by Alan Ginsberg and loosely following the trial of the publisher for 'obscene material' . It is a wonderful piece of prose on its own, and the animations that went with the recitation of this work made this a true cinematic gem. The next was The Hedgehog, which was just so nicely done, sad and lovely at the same time and the subtitles were only partially necessary as the French I once spoke so fluently apparently remains as a facet of my understanding.

Yeah that's what told me while I was in Africa. it broke my heart. I could hear the hippos whispering to me... "Ride us! We love you!"
