Yes, I have a parrot at home in Guyana. There are several species of parrots here. Needless to say they are quite cheap.

I've seen some of your location pics ..... and can understand what it's like trying to build a road in such conditions.smile

Too late to let things go now, all of their court room attacks were initiated during my hospital stays, plus they even stole documents out of my briefcase while I was sleeping in my hospital room. I know I can never trust them now ..... or ever again. I'm terminating their employment, benefits .... and their kid's employment and benefits too. Plus they will be losing their company cars.

So... on my way back to BC from Guyana, usually takes two days, but Delta has a new flight direct from Georgetown Guyana to New York. Problem is New York has a massive rain storm that delayed my flight for six hours causing me to miss my connection in Seattle. Now I have to stay overnight in Seattle, the next flight to Kelowna BC is...

A sunny day in the rain forest.... so I did my laundry at the creek. I saw an ant-eater crossing the road yesterday.....way cool. Two men on my construction crew almost got in knife fight and I had to go play judge for a bit, and we have a bulldozer down, the mechanics were working on i t all day. Some men caught a eel...

looks like some deep mud
bushrat:
yeah, basically 4-5 ft deep, for about 500m long in many sections of the road. We have to winch the trucks through that stuff. It takes the trucks roughly 6 rs to go 130 km.

Well, today is another sunny day in the rain-forest, although there will probably be rain this afternoon.

Some of the guys brought in some turtles and are cooking them up right now. They actually taste pretty good, its one of the few local food I actually like. They have this other thing called a 'bake' its basically a doughnut without the hole cut out. Those...

see, you're not the only one reading your blog wink mmmmmm, rainforest...are you dripping sweat all day long??
bushrat:
Well, since it rains a lot, nearly every day... you do get wet when you are out in the rain naturally. But I am also from Canada, where we do not have such high heat and humidity, so I am sticky most of the time. That part I hate, but the forest is awesome, I can hear the howler monkeys at night. Yesterday I saw a flock of Macaw parrots. I have seen sloths, jaguars, panthers, many snakes, laba (aka. Capybara), crocodiles, and giant otters.

I guess people do read blogs... thanks for your comments.

I will be in Guyana for the holidays. Unfortunately no room in my luggage for my 35mm, so digital pics from my snapshot will have to do to save the memories.
