So I am totally in love with my new job.
It's inside sales for a Pottery Wholesaler.
Allow me to list the reasons why:
1) Free Soda, they keep Coke & Diet Coke stocked at all times. The same goes for Coffee and Hot Chocolate.
2) Free Friday Lunches: Every Friday they order out food on the company dime.
3) I have been given enough time to get the tasks they give done.
4) I am not micromanaged in the least, in fact I am able to set my own routine as long as everything I can get everything I need done.
5) I have walked in and been handed potentially the biggest account this company has ever handled. And I am being given the chance to make money off of it.
6) Casual Dress Code: After showing up in a collared shirt for 3 weeks I realized no one cares, I sound professional on the phone, and get the job done.
7) If I am not on the phone, no one has a problem with me putting on my ipod and listening to music.
8) Respect: I has it, and people are appreciative of me doing a competent job.
9) They are lax about punctuality. I can take a long lunch if I want, if I am there early I can start early and leave early.
10) Over Time: If I have stuff I need to do, and it takes me more then 8 hours, they have no problem paying me over time. My last job could either cap your hours at 80, or send you home early.
11) Pay Days: 5th and 20th of each month, it's nice to know what day of the month you will get paid so you can schedule bills, plus that little bit extra from it being more then just two weeks, on a regular basis, rather then an extra check once or twice a year... makes it easier to save money.
12) Shorter / Cheaper Commute: Nuff' Said!
Well I could keep going but suffice to say I am happy. My old boss was telling people at my old job that I will come crawling back in 6 months begging for my job back. Even before hearing that I would never have gone back. But it's nice to be in a better place.

It has it's rewards. Just wish it paid better sometimes.
