Okay so work on Friday was bad. And I mean really bad, like people yelling and hollering at me. And didn't even have all right stuff to make my coffee with. So I leave work on my break and go off and get my cup of coffee and come back and there is a box at my desk. I was thinking more bullshit from customers or sales reps. But the box is return address is Best Buy, so I am thinking it was gonna be my new laptop for work. (which would have been nice but with the way friday was going it would have sat in a box taunting me, it was a busy day.)
Then I opened the box and almost cried. It was an Xbox360! I check all the packing that came with it, there is no return address or any notice of who sent it. I know it was not my girlfriend, I know how tight of a budget we have been on lately. So I started to think it was my mom. Would my mom have gotten me a 360 for X-mas? Well there is only one way to find out. I called her. I am sitting at my desk in the front office of the company over come with the box sitting at my feet.
Me: "Mom did you send me something from BestBuy?"
Mom: "Yes, what's in the box?"
So I told her and thanked her repeatedly. Then I went off to lunch, the office ordered out Pizza for a co-worker's last day (another reason it was busy.) They got Extreme Pizza, and for some reason that pizza was hell on my stomach. But I am getting ahead of myself. They ordered the Pizza late so when my lunch break came I had no food. So once again I am kinda bummed, kinda Hungry. I sit down in the lunch room and talk with Sue until her 10 minute break is over then I try to read, but I am too hungry to even read. So then I get back from lunch and there is still no pizza, not gonna be for another 15 minutes. But there is a second box on my desk. A smaller one this time, about the size of DVD, also from BestBuy. I open it up and it's a copy of FABLE 2.
Now my mom knew I was trying to use my bonus from work this year for something fun. (Last year it got me furniture) So I was planning on getting myself an Xbox360, and when I told her that about 2 weeks ago I know I mentioned Fable 2, since I replayed the earlier version (see previous blog as to me not getting the lost chapters...) and she remembered the name of the game I was getting. That was just too much I nearly lost it, and I have co-workers who want my mom to adopt them now.
So I get home Friday and go to set up the 360. I realize it has component, composite or HDMI connectors. I want HD so composite is no go. I have my surround sound system hooked up the HDMI and I like it since I can mute the TV and run the audio through the surround sound. But my TV only have one set of ports for component cables.
So I went to EBGames, they told me there was a system switcher but they were out that would take care of my problem (which is the component slot on my TV is usually used for my Cable Box.) They told me both stores at Serramonte Center (another mall would have them.) So I tried Radio Shack just in case they might have something that would work. They didn't have anything. I am starting to think no one uses more then one thing with component cables with out swapping wires all the time.
So I go do my grocery shopping and then go to the mall. (Spent 25 minutes looking for parking. FORGOT IT WAS THE SATURDAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS....) I get there find the first game stop knows what I am talking about but they are out of stock. The second one (yes two in one mall, the other used to Game Stop... or maybe was EB and is now Game Stop I get confused.), but the second one tells me that have what I have been sent for but it's not a component cable splitter, its just a component cable that has all the adapters for the various consoles. So I once again find my self at Radio in the second mall, looking for anything that will let me run my TV as a TV and then with out pulling out wire run my 360, the only thing they have is an HDMI splitter for like $65! So I bite the bullet and pick it up.
Then Tanya wanted to swing by target on the way out of the mall to look for something for her mother. What do I find there? a box that you can plug multiple component cables into, and then it switches them back and for just like that. And it was $35! Went back to Radio Shack and returned the other one, and they don't even have a good excuse as to why they don't carry what I think would be a basic items for anyone who is dealing with electronics these days. This is not a good sign for Radio Shack folks.
So I get home get it all set up and it works like a charm. The 360 is like the newest member of my family. I just need a few more games and to run an ethernet cable over to it, and fork over the money for Xbox live and then I will be all set. But that is my story for now. Hope this find you all doing well.

That is a good game. However the Multiplayer is not the best. V and me tried it, cam sucks in it.
