( An Indian might have been free until he saw ships coming from the east. he may have been hesitate, wouldnt we all ?, but found that with maybe a little hope and love they could live in peace, but all of that ended as a bullet pieced his heart, and he bled out welcoming the embrace of his God.)
I was thinking about freedom the other day. This country of mine loves to say that word as if it actually ensures it. I was just sitting here, and repeating the word into my head, you know to the point where it loses all meaning, and I came to the conclusion that I never understood it at all.
There are words in the English dictionary that don't make sense, and I guess these words were never meant to make sense, but have a uniform thought process when said. A trigger; almost to make you remember something that never was, nor ever could be.
Freedom, Peace, Love, God.
I'm pretty sure you know the definitions of these words, but do you understand them?
I don't think you were to even understand peace much less God, but back to freedom. I have an idea that Freedom is a word to cause you to believe that you can do anything. of course there are rules around that word, but still it's an idea, and idea to believe that you are unique, and you can do what you want. I was thinking about America, and how freedom came to be and I thought to myself: this country was founded on a crime. I mean it came to the point that our "founding fathers" were traitors. What came later on. the annihilation of the Indians, the enslavement of the blacks, and piss poor treatment of the Irish, all for the sake of a liberty that we didn't deserve. Whats freedom if you can't do anything? but turn around the same coin and you might ask: why would I want to do that even if I was free. you are just controlled. a low level control feed through you intravenously as freedom.
Whats peace, or love? They are so multi-fasted that the true understanding of it is lost. you can't have peace in life. true peace. not a care in the world. not even rich people have that kind of peace. peace is nothing but a dream of it. the hope that one day everything will be carefree, but it can't no matter how hard you work at it.
you may say: Steve? don't you think your defining these words too cut and dry
and I may say: isn't that the point? all of these words are so simple in thought, you hear it and you react. but think for a second. what are you reacting too. a lie? no. it's not as "x-files" as it seems. all these words inspire another failed understanding...
hope.
I agree completely........but it depresses me to do so
